I had pneumonia some months ago. I only realized it because my ribs hurt a bit when I coughed. Part of the improvement is not the antibiotics and immunizations: we're just a lot better fed and healthier than before. Still - it's science that brought us that, as well.

The problem you're referring to is called Greed.
On a slightly related note, the antibiotics I got first didn't help. It didn't have anything to do with antibiotika resistance, but the fact that I have a so called atypical pneumonia caused by mycoplasma[^], which is not responding to classic penicillin.
So I'm getting Doxycycline instead, which is dirt cheap to produce and is therefore used as an animal feed additive!  (You can relate that to antibiotika resistance)
Something is really sick in this world.
