A sarcasm of lounge posters.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
--Zachris Topelius

Well, I empathize with Sander's dilemma: I have this infinite loop running that creates my personality and forces me to act as if that were "myself," using up almost all my resources, and often leaving me feeling pathetic. Clearly, it is either using a flawed algorithm, or was somehow improperly installed to begin with; or, somehow, the other mental components installed have corrupted it in subtle ways so its manifestations cannot be rigorously debugged.
However, this loop that creates the illusion of "I am that I am" has the effect of making it impossible to disconnect from the internet, suggesting it may be a different strain of infinite loop than Sander's.
The thought of Sander without internet is disturbing: he might do something really crazy, like write another article for CP, get some work done, or, have a relationship.
«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. But stuff that is in the middle category you don’t want to restrict unless there is a clear way to work around it.» Eric Lippert, May 14, 2008

I forgot my facebook password...
So far it refuses my new passwords despite them being "strong" I guess it's because I already used that password before....
With this new stupid policy I have too many new password I just don't remember them anymore!
And it upsets me to no end!
Worse.. many other web site do that to me, and work as well...
I guess I have to start doing like I do at work, the same password with just a number incrementing each time.... like "password01" ho, I can't? let's use "password02" then, I guess it's way more secure like that!

Seems like the sites are use to people forgetting thier passwords. How many tries before you are locked out. Not sure, but quite a few. I know I often try a number of passwords on a site before I give up and ask them to send me a reset. Of course not sure whet they can really do to protect me with this password if my email has been hacked. Oh, and then have to come up with a new password that keeps within thier policy for passwords.

Yes, and sometimes they don't tell you their policy straight. They let you discover it by trial and error, if they are nice enough... Otherwise you have to guess blindly...
