Hello all,
At our company we have bought samsung galaxy s4 for some of the people.
Some of them have bluetooth hands free.
With other phones everything worked perfectly. With that sgs4 things are different: pairing works, but sound gets lost during the call. In fact it works intermittently.
I've googled and read lots of forums. But by now what is most accepted out there is to throw that phone and get an iPhone...
Anyone here that knows of this and of a solution to this problem?

I've got Bluetooth built into the car and I just switch it on and all works fine. I had to set it up to start with but it's been no problem at all.
My top tip for hands free calls while driving is every now and then to scream "F---! What the hell was that?"

I did once answer the phone to a persistent cold caller and just yell "WHERE THE F***'S THE AMBULANCE" then hung up.

It looks like my colleague old BMW is not able to handle the new Bluetooth implementation in the SGS4 phone... it must be a compatibility issue. It looks frustrating as it should be backwards compatible... 
By the way... good piece of advice here...

Yes, no luck with that, it looks like it is not compatible with some old inbuilt car Bluetooth systems.
I've been told of soundabout (an app that could help)...
Let's see.

No trouble with my Droid connecting with my Toyota.
My wife has a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, but we haven't tried pairing it.
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

It doesn't works only with some cars, on some Toyota's, Peugeots and Renaults it works flawlessly, in some BMW's it doesn't work.
It also works with Parrot CK3000 systems.
It looks like the implementation of Bluetooth in old BMW cars is not 100% compatible, or that SGS4 is not compatible with old implementations of Bluetooth...

Ours are working with some cars but not on others...
I'll try a recommended app soundabout that could help with that...

If I'm applying for a Techie job, do I really need to be on twitter (?), stick my Farcebook page on my CV and generally be visible ? I was under the impression employers wouldn't be impressed by some of this, is it to make the Arts graduates/Business studies refugees feel like they are on the hot edge of technology?

Depends what's on your wall...you might want to "sanitize" it for a few months in case potential employers do go looking for it...

I understand that it has become quite normal that they do so. However, it's hard to keep it clean because it's so easy to go all the way back to the beginning of (FB) time... 
Personally, I don't care, and I don't list it on my CV either. As far as I'm concerned, that is a part of the private sphere and has nothing to do on the CV. If they want to try to find it themselves, go ahead, be my guest. I've got nothing almost nothing to hide...
