Did anyone verify that it wasn't a gorilla in a human suit that tanquilized a man in a gorilla suit?

Well, as I understand he was in the cage with a gorilla... he took off his suit ...he was shot with tranquilizer dart by a vet? ...for less suffering?

My gf turned on her laptop this morning and the thing was in Portrait mode.
Now, that would have been easy enough to get out of, except that the touchpad was still in landscape mode! Grrr...
And by what magic did W8 decide that the display should be in portrait mode?
I know a lot of you like W8, but I have to say, it's biggest pile of crap to come out Microsoft, ever. It is CONSTANTLY getting in the way, either popping up stuff on the sidebar, or switching from desktop mode to brain-dead metro view, or taking 10 mouse clicks to print something where 2 would do in W7.
I hates it. I hates the name Windows Eightsees.

There is a setting to stop the charms bar from flyingnout every time you touch the right side of the screen.

WTF is a charms bar, sounds like something from a fantasy game, no don't tell me I am waiting for Windows 9 and hopefully MS may come to it's senses by then.
I obviously don't have W8 nor do I play fantasy games.

Sure, but I've been using W8 for almost two years and haven't experienced any of that and none of the other things people complain about. In fact, most people, once they get past the "security blanket" of the start menu and realize it's sill there but in different form actually find W8 more usable and more friendly.
But, hey some people can't or don't know how to adjust.

It took me a whole 10 hours to come to grips with the new presentation.
It is said that 1% (me included) will learn to cope with the new presentation willingly.
9% will begrudgingly learn it.
90% (you included) will continue to stress out over the change.

Actually, since I still use W7, I'm not stressing, except when I have to fix whatever weird behavior W8 did on my gf's laptop. And if I were to use W8, yes, you're right, I'd begrudgingly learn it. What I find interesting though is actually how difficult the transition from W7 to W8 is for some people, like my gf and my mom. Yes, she was used to W7, but W8 really does seem to get in the way.
But, like you said, it's a learning curve.

Yes those people who are not technically oriented will have a hard time adjusting.
I first learned to use the new interface because it was the way things are going in the future for Micro$oft interfaces.
Lately I have actually warmed up to it and prefer the Metro (I know I am not supposed to call it that) version of the apps I use a lot, like video to name one (there are others). Go figure.
I guess I have made the transition and there is no going back. Heaven help me.

I have never had any issues with W8. It's fast, and I like it. I do have the Classic Shell[^] start menu installed, to have a Win7-esque start menu.
