My arithmetic's got progressively worse, over the years. Too many tools.
On the plus side, I can do duodecimal without having to take my socks off.

Even calc.exe supports hexadecimal these days, not that I need it.. anything it can do, I can do in my head.
And I use this[^] (shameless plug) for anything complicated.
To the person who submitted solve x^2 + 2*x = 0
Look at the syntax reference. As in all serious programming languages (not to say that this is one, but this way you can just copy&paste your stuff directly), ^ is xor, and has a low precedence. Your query was parsed as solve x^(2 + 2*x) = 0.
Filling in -2 for x gives, in order:
2*-2 = -4,
2+-4 = -2,
-2^-2 = 0.

I was having issues with Access Violation Exceptions while using Mono.Posix. It turns out that I built the MonoPosixHelper native library with MSVC 11, and Mono.Posix itself loaded the MSVC 6 runtime.
This took me a couple of days to figure out as:
1) I am not a native developer.
2) The internet was not helpful (things about corrupted Windows installs)
3) Windows gives no helpful error message
Figures.

1) Real native developers are slowly becoming something like the Yeti or Nessie. Everybody has heard about them, but nobody knows or ever has seen one.
2) The internet is never helpful unless you stick to the pasteurized 'best practices' as all the other drones do.
3) So what else is new?

Yeah. At least it works now.
I have seen some error messages that make the ones from Windows look useful.
I especially like '!+?=‽' as an error message. I have seen that one more that once.

As far as I know I have still never heard a song from neither Justin Beaver nor Wand Erection, and until recently I didn't even know there was such a thing as Ke$ha.
But some idiocies trickle down even to me.
So I'm suggesting a mandatory neutering of all country and western singers with a mullet.
Rant over.

It's a conscious choice, I never listen to radio stations that play that kind of music. And if I know about it I can avoid it.
But if I don't know I can get that nasty surprise. Rick Astley, Rebecka Black and Miley Cyrus comes to mind

I agree with you about Rick Astley, but I haven't heard any of his songs in quite a while. You know, with my time machine being out of order and all.

Apart from dozens of stupid stories I'v barely skimmed over* I know next to nothing of the first. For the second not even that - I barely got your play on names. As for Casha, I think I've heard songs of her announced a few times on the radio, but couldn't bring myself to recall what it was if my life depended on it.
My impression about many of the current media stars is they make headlines for showing off stupidity at a level that no sane person would willingly present to the public, not for any kind of good (or even above average) performance. Apparently that is the only way they know to stand out from the mass of mediocre wannabe stars. Sadly, it appears to work.

Well, let me start by saying that i'm a fairly experienced vb.net programmer.
I don't know much about the visual side of programming and that's the reason why my game is not a 3d game nor 2d.
The main concept of the game is:
- Space colonization game
- multiplayer
- mixture between: civilization, EVE online and Ogame
- Sandbox
I need someone who is above the age of 16 and is experienced with vb.net! The person has to be able to understand/speak english since Skype/TeamSpeak will be our main communcation method.
Dedication is a must. Innovation as well!
If you are interested about this, and you want to know more. hit me up on Skype: mr.gettingkilled
I will explain my whole idea to you and I will be open to suggestions.

I want mature people who can invest time into this.
Not to be rude but most people under the age of 16 aren't really serious.
But if you can prove the opposite then I might reconsider.
