He was of the era when Max Boyce rightly commented that there was a factory conveyor belt producing Welsh fly-halves. Cliff Morgan, Barry John, Phil Bennett; they don't make them like that anymore.
He'll always be remembered and rightly so for that game and that try.

Forty years on and it's still as good to watch now as it was then. I remember seeing the game on BBC. There have been 1000s of rugby games since then but that match outshines them all. What a privilege it must have been to have been there in the stadium.
