Yeah the installation went without a hitch.
raddevus wrote: I'm assuming Boom Beach is a Google Play / Android game?
Yes it's in the Play Store. If you haven't played Boom Beach, DON'T!!! If you play it and like it, you will curse me for all eternity for getting you addicted to it. Just saying. You have been warned.

If it helps, the WookieTab is dual boot - Win10 and Android, and I don't use the Android side at all, because the screen is so big that it make you feel like you are in the Remedial Class since all apps are full screen ... it actually feels worse to use familiar apps like that than it does to use the UWP apps in Win10. And that takes some doing!
So Android on a pair of 22" monitors? Not sure that's going to work.

Very interesting. I'll check it out.

It is bloody brilliant, isn't it?
I'm keeping a close watch on everything Chuwi does, because I don't want to miss anything.

Remember how much invective I got for complaining about the same thing with win 8?
You must be wrong, because those who attacked me for my rational complaints can't be.

It must have been you I read a post from a few weeks ago about a "WookieTab". Got me so curious that I searched and found about Chuwi and the Windows 10/Android dual boot, I needed to order one and now I've got it, the 10" version with the clipon keyboard. Love it, Windows 10 runs well enough on Atom x5 with 4GB RAM, but Android flies like crazy with that much RAM. Battery life acceptable but not extraordinary.
Thanks buddy, you made me spend money and well spent

Yeah, my Hi12 is damn good as well!
I just installed Corel Paintshop Pro X8 on it, and was surprised at how well it works - with VS2017 due out next week, it'll be interesting to see how well that runs on it.

Hm,if you could run the OS in VirtualBox, you could fix the 'whole' screen issue. Might be usable that way.

Where can you find WookieTab? I did a search and came up short.

Try a search for Chuwi Hi12 - it's a poor attempt at a Star Wars pun to call it the WookieTab.
I believe you can get it through Amazon.com, as well as direct from China.
They also do a 10 inch version, as well as a brand-spanking-new 13 inch 3K retina display.

If I'm not mistaken, my experience with RemixOS was limited to:
- Install in Hyper-V
- Reboot
- No mouse, navigation by keyboard only
- Google doesn't return anything relevant
- Deleted and never looked back
So if you get it to work, let me know how you managed that. I think I had a similar experience with the later versions of Android x86 (earlier versions worked fine, but the latest are badly broken under Hyper-V).
No way I'm dedicating a physical machine for this.

I understand and that makes sense. I'm just looking for a small OS to run on an old unused laptop with 3GB ram and an old celeron processor. I believe their might be a chromeOS version I could try also. Not sure.

FWIW: I used Mint for a good while on a 2GB netbook from yesteryear. I thought it was a little heavy for that amount of RAM so I switched to Xubuntu (which is supposedly more lightweight). It's OK--not great, but performance is where it would be expected.

Thanks very much. I will take a look at those myself.

"Android-based OS on a PC"
I fail to see the point. All I see is bull*hit: Re-imagining mobile, Redefining PC.
And then they claim this:
We've benchmarked Remix OS for PC’s performance against some of the best alternatives in the business. And quite honestly, nothing comes remotely close. This means your favorite games will not only look bigger on a PC screen, they will also perform better than ever.
Yeeeah, riiight!

My only thought was that I have been looking for an OS that could run on my old laptop with 3 GB ram and an old celeron processor. Just looking for a small footprint which would also allow a good selection of apps. This might work.

Is it possible to boot it in a VM as opposed to a dual boot?

Good question, but I'm not sure about that.

So Angular uses semantic versioning... That's explain why all broke down between 1 and 2, but now they explain that 4 will be a painless update, that's either because 'Breaking changes don’t have to be painful!' or because jumping 2 version forward means we will not even recognize the new Angular...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

After the initial hump, I really enjoyed working with Ng1.
Now Ng2 wants me to stovepipe my development to fit their model, and I just won't do that. I doubt that's going to get better with the next three versions: 4, 12, and 1564.
So I won't use them. I guess I'll be taking a peek at React or just suck it up and roll my own.
