To quote from the TV last night: "I'd break my foot before I stopped enjoying kicking him in the b*lls"
That's like saying "I know our new car can't swim underwater, but..."
Stupid idiot - hopefully he is on commision-only...

Why is someone from marketing performing a sales job? And where's your product manager?

We're a small company and we perform many roles, the MD is very hands on which is sometimes a blessing sometimes a curse, so the marketing manager is the sales manager is the salesman.

Question is, is the product still selling?
It might seem bad to your ears, but does it seem bad to the customers?
Maybe the customer hears "It doesn't wash the dishes" and thinks "Wow! that must mean it does everything else!"
Sales people are often paid on a commission basis - so if his methods aren't selling, then I guess he won't be around for too long!

Actually the marketer is doing market research for you. That is their job.
As developers we think we know what customers need, but often we don't know enough about their business to really know what they need.
This person is gathering valuable data about what the customer really needs. Implement it and make your product valuable to the customer or ignore at your own peril.

I tried again and got it up to 91% without much effort, just a lot of lying:
"You can play hardball with the best of them! You know what you want and are not afraid to go for it – even if it means bending the rules occasionally and putting a few noses out of joint on the way. Nothing fazes you. You are decisive, self-confident and pretty much up for anything. You are a ‘means-to-an-end’ person. For you, it’s not necessarily a matter of right or wrong, but of what gets the job done. ‘Bring it on’ is your mantra, but to help those around you keep their heads, you should learn some tricks to help you temper your self-satisfying tendencies..."
