Yeah, I thought that too.
A list of the top ten continents to visit would be harder to compile.

That's an article by Chris, please check it out. Useful Reference Books[^]
Still this article needs an update. Because I just found 300+ questions in Q/A section[^] regarding this.
In past(2 years ago), I have posted a thread for this. Clickety[^]. At that time we got more than bunch of suggestions from our members.
This question[^] forced me to post this message.
FYI, you could directly update that article or you could post a reply at bottom of that article, we'll update later.
So this time expecting big update. On all topics like MVC, Silverlight, WPF, WCF, Mobile (Windows, Android, iOS), Sharepoint, Azure, Cloud, Ruby, HTML5/CSS3, etc.,
And need recommendations/suggestions on new topics(?) too.
Possibly this'll reduce more questions on books topic.

Kind of him to list my books. The second edition of Tribes just came out and is newly focused on tech leadership, but Career Programmer is pretty long in the tooth. The career aspects are still relevant (makes up maybe half the book), but all the requirements / design / testing stuff is outdated at this point. How outdated? You'll see references to Hungarian Notation.
Honestly, I was never interested in writing about the design or coding stuff. What I really wanted to share were the career strategies. However, since Apress didn't write business books back then, those chapters were the price of admissions to getting the career advice out there. Still, I had a lot of fun with the night watchman's attack Chihuahua.

The guy who used to sit opposite me had a couple of boys who were into Lego, the newer kits all seem to moulded parts which seem to take away half the fun in my view. Still want though!!

Well, this a very sensitive subject in the Lego Community. Just as we developers have our PC v. Mac, Windows vs. Linux, tabs vs. spaces, etc..., the Lego guys have a big debate about molded parts vs. "original" parts (they also have a naming for those, IIRC).

You know what I find it comforting/reassuring that we are not the only type to have this sort of battle, them "can you fix my computer" you "Oh it's a Mac, sorry!", its not only us!!

Probably because you ran out of system resources.
Try opening it in just one or two at a time.

My son got one of the older ones yeas ago for xmas and I ended up playing with it more than he did, would love to have one of the older ones the newer one doesn't look as interesting.

Even I got the older one and started playing with it. I used a tiny WinForm app to control Lego through bluetooth
Which library are you using. I found a couple of interesting ones like MindSqualls

Cost wise yes it's more but they are really good for those who love coding and wish to do some interesting stuffs. It's also good for kids to learn programming , Just ask your kid to build the Lego so that you can program and run as you wish

I don't have one anymore, it was a LONG time ago and has long since been donated to my ex-wife which probably threw it away not knowing what it was. But would love to get another one but didn't realize that they were so expensive.

Yeah that's true if one doesn't know what it is they will through it off. Hmm it looks like junk until you build it
I really feel it's a great kit one can present to kids so that they can also learn so coding and have fun. Mean while we can also do some innovative things.
