If I were a snake I probably wouldn't know what was happening or which direction to go to. It's just cruel.

Had the first jab yesterday, all was fine.
Then we went to bed ...
Very quickly, I'm freezing - despite being under a thick duvet, lying on an electric blanket, and with a cat between my knees pumping heat into me.
I can feel the heat, but I'll cold at the same time.
Symptom: Chills (AstraZeneca side effect from the list they give you).
Then my neck gets stiff, and all my joints start to ache.
(AstraZeneca side effect from the list they give you).
Then my muscles chime in.
(AstraZeneca side effect from the list they give you).
Then I start to feel sick.
(AstraZeneca side effect from the list they give you).
Could someone take the CCC for me? I'm really not up to it today ...

Hope you're feeling better soon.
I had side effects for 2 days but nothing near that bad.

Side effects happen for a lot of people, some even have to be hospitalized for a couple of days (rare, but does happen).
Statistically, you should be feeling better in a few days time.
You will feel better soon.

Hope you get better quickly, I guess I was lucky to get away with just an afternoon of nauseous.

First jab (Astra), couldn't stop shivering the first night and felt very weary for a couple of days. Oh, and an aching arm for a couple more days. But that was it.
2nd jab. No reaction apart from feeling a bit tired.
Get well soon.

Get well soon, Griff.
I am starting to be impressed by how many of you guys already got their shot. The way things are going in France, I should get the first jab by the end of this year.

Get well soon Griff
I was laid low for 2 days with full-on 'flu symptoms afterwards and the arm is still a bit stiff 5 days later. But asking around, my reaction does appear to be one of the more extreme ones.
They do say it is worse if you have actually had CV-19 which might be your problem.
Go to bed, make sure you have plenty of water near to hand and plenty of paracetamol.

I suppose you have to see it from the positive side, Those side effects means it works.
And if you get the side effects rough you would have gotten the decease rougher.
Well you already knew that.
Get better!

I think OG has had the virus already which might be a contributing factor to his side effects.

He did.

I wouldn't know, I've read about it going both ways for different people.

I'm starting to think the AstraZeneca vaccine needs to be pulled and blocked. Too many people are having serious side effects from it.

Had to do some drafting throughout the past few weeks. While looking for a decent program to use (ended up with FreeCAD - fantastic tool!), came across Antimony. Didn't use it, but if you are into Lisp you might find it interesting! Nodes as far as the eye can see!

Here are some alternatives to FreeCAD: best-open-source-cad-tools[^]
FreeCAD is rated highly, but might be overkill if you only need 2D.

Depending on what you are using it for, I can recommend fusion 360 - it has a free-to-hobbyists / education / startups version and it's damn good when you get used to it. I use ti for 3D print modeling: Adventures in 3D printing Part 1: Fusion, you CAD![^]

It was a big ship, travelling at a decent speed, so I put some figures together for you to explain the delay, which will undoubtedly come in very useful in your next pub quiz.
The momentum with which the Ever Whatsit hit the bank is the equivalent of:-
a fully laden Boeing 747 travelling at 12,285 km/h
a Lockheed Martin F-35B in standard flight mode at 458,333 km/h
a fully loaded Ford Transit van travelling at 1,774,194 km/h.
For those with imperial tendencies, that's 7,634, 284,795 and 1,102,433 mph.
A fruit fly could achieve similar momentum by flying at close to the speed of light, but this would be entirely due to relativistic effects.
Aren't you happier now that you have that useful explanation at your fingertips?

I really, really don't care....but, I am glad you do.

Hah! Just wait till they get it free - then they'll send it over to block the Panama canal - then you'll care, right enough!
... or not, as the case may be.
