I think that for the captain of the Ever Given* his troubles are just getting started ...

If he is not fired or charged with a crime, then I think his employer is going to be the one with all the troubles, fines, law suits, etc.

And they tend to hand this down to the highest available scapegoat - which will be 200,000 tonnes of bricks head for him I suspect.
To be honest the company won;t even notice the fines, Evergreen turns over some US$4 billion per year.

The captain was not in charge at the time. The two canal pilots were.

Yes, the captain's troubles will be ever green...

I was under the impression that the Dutch were better sailors than that!

They must. If the sea level rises, the whole country is under water.

I note that they also cornered the market for shipping tonnage (50% !). What does that say about the rest of the world?

If a cat swallows a ball of wool, would it have mittens?

My experience with cats is that furballs go the other direction.

How are you feeling Paul ? I must have been lucky I had my first jab five weeks ago and apart from a heavy feeling in my arm for a day I didn't have any side effects ( I hope I haven't spoken too soon )

Knackered, to be honest.
It may be lack of sleep last night, or fatigue (which is one of the AZ side-effects, apparently).
The paracetamols are keeping the pain down to manageable levels though.
Herself had no problem with either of her jabs either ...

If they are the cold, wet, squishy, and smelly Lego bricks then yes.

My name is a complicated combination of 45 degrees of forward motion, 25 degrees of leftward drift, 75 degrees of upward acceleration, and infinity and that is the point where my love for you stops.
A little sweet nothing for your significant other, brought to you by the Curie model in GPT-3. Thanks to Kent for putting this in the Insider today.

Oh yes, that went well. Did they not shut that thing down after becoming a little discriminating, because it was trained by the HR guys?

I'm tired, but I don't feel sick any more, the chills are gone, and I've kept a couple of paracetamol down so the muscle and joint pains are under control, pretty much.
My head is blurred though - I don't think I'll be doing much useful today.
That was quite nasty - almost like a mini COVID, but a lot milder - but it won't stop me having the second jab.
