I've taken to modding fallout 4, and wow is it laborious.
There are so many interlinked forms, tables, and objects all entered through a kind of clunky data entry UI. It took me all night to extend the Strength perk tree (if you play you know what this is) so perks have ranks going all the way up to level 100, and I'm still not quite done with it.
Imagine having to code in C#, except instead of writing code, you had a data entry form with a table of classes in it, a table with methods for the classes in it each with an associated parent class id, and in *those methods* you could write actual code. That's what it's like, only there are dozens of tables for different kinds of "classes" (kind of like C# has enums and interfaces except on steroids)
Bethesda really needs a front end so you can write your data in some sort of declarative language and then compile it into an esp/esl/esm data file.
I can only imagine how many hours could have been saved developing this game for want of better tools.
Parsers are useful. More accurately, compiler front ends are useful. Coulda used one here.

The missing front end probably gets the Bethesda developers in the right "the end is near" mood

Is this paid work you are doing or for your gaming pleasure?
World of Warcraft uses Lua for their client side mods/addons. No UI for editing. VS Code with the Lua extensions is what a lot of mod-devs use now.

It's possible they have something better internally, but are only offering the dumbed down version to the general public either because the internal tool has issues (can't be cleanly limited to modable values, lacks sanity checking, etc) or is just seen as having too steep a learning curve for the average mod-maker.

Put one together. Sell it to them. Retire.
Then with more free time, you can play the game and...oh, wait. You'll be back on this, won't you...

Hot d@mn! I actually got that one. Mercifully after someone else did, but still I figured one out.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

Question: where should a tiny morsel like this go on CP ? imho, not enough meat on it for a Tip/Trick.
After wrestling with the VS installer, and VS' NuGet Package Manager, for several eternities ... i finally found the winning lottery ticket.
Montage (.png file) of two screen shots showing the NuGet configurations that ... finally ... worked.

Seems enough for a Tip, although it looks like a default config (except for the Packagereferences option)

I would go for a Tip too

Arghhhh! Sorry. Work has been manic for the last 24 hours - and I totally forgot about CCC.
I have nothing right now, but I'll give it my undivided attention for the next few minutes.
Back soon...

You may have left out:
0) company making software subsidizes the site in some way
1) company gives perks, swag, advance previews, to the people running the site to get influence.
2) company hires "influencers."
3) company pays for bots to deliver fake positive reviews.
4) company sues users for bad reviews.
That's what i call "social media"

The internet?
Previously known as BBSes and (in person) user groups.

"Business model", as in, those who manage that forum derive some income from it?
In that case, they're really at the mercy of Company X not starting their own and, effectively killing their market. Assuming they do better.
It's like companies that write middleware that "improves" an established product from another company. If their entire business model relies on said company to keep their bugs around...they probably won't exist for long.
