Saying UK is almost redundant when you say bank holiday, which has a rather different meaning in the US.

I bought an AV receiver(Pioneer) long time ago, but it was broken after one year due to some dust falling into the chassis I guess.
Now I get time to work on my home theatre system.
Any recommendation on solid, robust AV receiver?

I haven't the slightest clue.
EVERYONE I know uses their computer/phone/tablet now to stream movies. The few people that watch movies on their TV do so with smart TVs that are wired to the internet, and have great built in speakers or they get the speaker bar and plug it into their TV.
Good luck with that most ancient of technologies.
