Rephrasing my question another way - given what Epic has lost/won...is anything going to have much of an impact on Apple? I guess that's the bottom line.

Yes, it means that all the app (mostly games) developers can route their in-app purchases through their own site instead than through the Apple store, hetting a larger cut of the money and negating it to Apple.

So what prevents Epic from giving the game away for free and then charging for character slots or playtime in the in app store thereby completely circumventing any fees to Apple?
I don't know why the concept of freedom is so foreign to people - how about if Epic doesn't like the Apple store they service Android and create market pressure to change?

Is anyone using chrome remote desktop? If so please describe your experience.

I have used it to remotely help my sister. My experience with it is meh. When I go to control the remote machine, it frequently stops responding to my mouse and keyboard inputs, and I have to ask my sister to click on stuff for me.

It is hideously expensive and I am a very small company, just me, and 2 clients left. I am winding it all down.

But there is a free version.

Here I am envious that you have your own company, and you say you're winding it down. What's wrong with you?

I'm 72, have been doing it since 1977, and I am tired. I do custom Desktop programs for distributors.

Write something for yourself that you like. I liken it to whittling (with the app store in mind). In the process, I've become somewhat versed in Napoleonic battle field tactics.

Do you already have someone to pass it on ?

I am 54, in a similar boat, but not winding down.
I have a small number of boutique clients.
If you are interested in passing this on to someone, I would love to help.
I can provide you a couple of client references from clients that have been with me for 20+ years!
I do use Paid TV, and I like that you HONOR the restriction on the licensing model!

Is remote desktop not an option?
I know you log off the remote user, but if you are going to take over anyways...
As long as you don't log off, you can just close the RD window with your mouse and everything continues running in the background, then the local person logs in and can continue where you left it.
You might want to have a look here [^] too, VNC would be a nice option (I have used it a while and did everything I needed).

Is Teams allowed to be a contender?
You can do remote desktop sharing, I know it works well enough, and I'm pretty sure I've seen options to let others take over to control the system whose screen is shared. But the other person has to be there to click and approve the request; it's not one of those systems that lets you connect and control when there's nobody at the other end.

Look at AnyDesk. I've switched to it long time ago and never looked back.

RealVNC is a great alternative. I have used it extensively to control remote stations and never had a problem.
