Great news about the surgery, Mike! I'm glad it worked out so well. Perhaps after the next one you'll discover that she has a third , erm, accessory...

Another Handbag?
Thanks Roger, I was really nervous before but it went smooth.
Nervous because I had it done at the VA.

A very sad commentary, but I do understand. You're very fortunate that it worked out so well...

yup had it done in 2018. went from legally blind to 20/20 in a week (had each eye done a week apart). Plus I realized my 3D vision also returned with a surprise. I did not realize i was also blind in 3D.
Amazing, and still seeing everything great.

Belated "welcome to the club". Had mine done several years ago. Left lens close for reading, right one for distance. Just had them both zapped with a laser to clear off something forming, seems to go with the territory some few years after surgery. The wife had similar experience and success.
The trees have leaves again, instead of green blur. Only wear glasses when driving, to make things clearer for left (reading) eye.

I'm due to have the right eye done in 10 days, what else will it expose?
Maybe you'll find out your SO has actually been a "he" all along...

Disco started in 1973 and peaked in 1978/79. 1971 is close enough.

Same here Mike I don't like pop music

The first rock song I remember was Three Dog Night Joy To The World[^], I was a wee 5 years old.

To this day I have a soft spot for that tune. They indeed had some great songs.

Nice, my son (now 18) is just now interested in vinyl, I've been showing and playing him my albums since birth, seems like my hard work is beginning to pay off.

My sister (born 1955) got a real kick as an adult when she listened to the Beat-less (why where they called that - they certainly had the beat?) She loves you[^]"She loves you", discovered that the song actually had a verse, not just the refrain? The lyrics certainly is above par for its time. The harmonics are not the very most sophisticated delivered by The Beatles, a magnitude above her memory of the "yeah, yeah, yeah"-refrain from twenty years earlier.

The Beatles were the first rock I really got into, I would listen to them for hours, kinda worried my mother. Little did she know what I would listen to when I got older. I still love the Beatles.

I certainly remember the song, but this recording/artist is unfamiliar. I don't think it would have turned up as my favorite in those days - or today. I wish I knew who made the recording of my childhood!

Got it in 5, but after try 3 I had 4 green letters and 5 possible words ... had to post a word I knew it wasn't going to be to eliminate options!
Spoiler: highlight the following for my guesses:
AEROS Yellow A
PLAIN Yellow A
MATCH GREEN A, T,C, & H
Bugger. That leaves me BATCH, CATCH, GATCH, HATCH, and WATCH
BEWIG Yellow W - If it had been all grey, then I have two options left: CATCH and HATCH with two slots open.
WATCH All green.

Indeed. I got first 3 at right place by third attempt but really had to apply brut force to get to it in 4.
