Don’t debug, plug!
Buy some of the foam ear plugs you use for yard work and shooting.
25 cents/ pair
Put them in your ears so you don’t hear him complain.
Seriously, if installed correctly then he will sleep through it. Cotton balls are almost as good

Ah! Finally the wife's view. There are tons of jokes about upgrading wives and girlfriends but very few about husbands and boyfriends.

Drop the noisy hardware:
Remove the speaker, let an ES32 capture the audio signal and stream it to shazam.
They'll let you know if it is any good.

The Windows 11 "taskbar" is a disgrace. It should be at the left of the screen, with real icons, with text, with progress, etc.
So I declined the "upgrade" to Abomination 11.
I can only hope they will continue to honor my choice...

12 hours of sleep reminds me of something that happened a few years back. I have sleep apnea and use a cpap machine to help me sleep. It records some info about how I’m sleeping onto an SD card that I take to the doctor and her staff would import the data into their computer. So I met with her and she said that it was showing that I was sleeping 12 hours per night. I said “no way”. I have never slept anywhere near 12 hours. She said “computers don’t lie.” She started to step to get one of her staff and I happened to look at the screen and saw that she had pulled up someone else’s record so I stopped her before she got out of examination room and could make too big of a fool of herself.

A neighbour brought us a tiny kitty, perhaps abandoned by its mother cat. This kitty now lives with us. This is my daughter playing with the kitty.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cat ownership.
Lesson one: vets are expensive ... immunization, neutering, and microchipping are the first three things to look for.
Lesson two: vets are expensive ... you can buy the same flea and worm products from the internet for maybe 1/4 or less of the price a vet will charge - I find the "back of the neck drops" are best once the cat is flea free. Apply monthly for fleas, and quarterly for worms.
Don't expect to have many lie-ins with a cat: they want breakfast when the sun comes up! Oh, and they like keyboards as well.
Wouldn't want to lose ours though: @Dij-The-Cat

Thanks for your mail.
There are not so many cat-related regulations in India where I live. So somewhat easier to take care of the 🐈.
We have two other grown up cats 🐈 at home, and they are still hostile towards this new kitty. Will take time for them to adjust.

It's not so much regulations as a good idea: cats in the UK don't have to be chipped until 2023 (dog chipping became mandatory in 2016).
Chipping means if your cat gets lost or stolen, a vet can scan him / her and return it to you.
Fleas are nasty vermin - the cat and you are much better off without them! (And they can carry some nasty cat bugs when they swap hosts - like FIP which is brutal, fatal, and incurable.)
Worms don't help either - and they can be transferred to humans if you aren't careful when petting.

I thought everyone knew that VET is an acronym - Very Expensive Treatment.

truth. The vets realized they had gotten so expensive, they started an insurance industry.
It's absurd.

My cat has food available all day long, we let her manage herself. European cats usually prefer 10-15 small snacks over the day rather than two-three large feedings.
Despite that, she knows we refill her kibbles at 7 AM so she will meow for food despite still having it available.

Hi All,
Time for a rant we have a 'Zero Trust' policy introduced today, I have committed my password so it's muscle memory I got to habit of typing it before the monitors had worked out what they were at wake up. Now, we have to use a PIN code to unlock the keyboard to allow the password option (3 times your out!) So can't log in that way anymore, If you use your ID card to unlock your PC it works(!) the old way was card in unlocks the PC, card out locks PC. Now take your card out PC's remains on unlocked open to all to use. Passwords for all systems have to be different, great in theory, in practice people write them on Post It's which end up stuck to the screen. Hacker proof if you can't read... It gets worse...
