Hardware pins are always labeled from the perspective of the chip they are attached to. If a pin says TX, it means *this chip* right here transmits on this pin, and if you want to communicate between two chips, you connect one's TX to the other's RX.
I know you know all this, HTCW, so just for the benefit of someone else who might not...
Any hardware you find that doesn't follow this convention should be shunned and the designer publicly shamed in the town square -- but I think it's pretty rare overall.

I did build my own MIDI card for the IBM PC ISA bus in the 80's. The main difference between MIDI and RS232 serial comms is the baud rate needed. I used a 2MHz crystal for the MIDI. RS232 uses 1.8something MHz crystal. The reason is that the baud rate needed for MIDI is not possible otherwise.

Ah, yeah, because it's not divisible, I get you. In this it's not a problem, as the timing completely configurable via this little ESP32 MCU. They're little beasts.

The breakout works fine. I've tested it with a loop between TX and RX. No lag.

... there are calls in the UK (at least) for pay parity between the male and female professional players.
I have to say that is a great idea, only fair, and which can only serve to improve the game as a whole.
The problem is going to be getting the men to take that big a pay cut ...

I don't know if supply-and-demand works the same way for sports on your side of the pond, but here the only way for women's sports to pay more and/or equitably is for them to draw the same size crowds to their matches. Maybe that would happen with more exposure and promotion in the media, but right now it's tough for them to draw big crowds at all, much less at the ticket prices they would need to pay the same as men's sports.

Supply-and-demand is universal. What isn't universal is the tendency of European and other governments to subsidize activities they consider "cultural", "in the public interest", etc., AKA robbing Peter to pay Pauline.

Co-ed teams might be worth a try.

Given the documented differences to men's advantage between men and women in physical strength, endurance, etc., I suspect that those co-ed teams will turn men-only in short order. The only fair ways to have contests of strength etc. is either to have men-only and women-only contests, or to test applicants and grade them by (size, endurance, etc.) in a manner similar to that used by boxers.
The latter might not work so well for team sports.

Or like a mixed-doubles event.
But how about having women play the first half and men play the second half?

Hah welcome to my life, Oz media/management has gone over the top for womens sports. Free to air only shows the female version and a very limited number of the male version of most sports. The bulk of male sports are reserved for streaming services.
There used to be a time when the wife could watch tennis 40 weeks of the years, now it is only about 6 weeks on free to air.

Given the quality of the men’s game, they deserve the pay cut. Over paid, under performing Prima Donnas the lot of them. I’d be embarrassed to be a member of the England men’s team given what the girls achieved and the hurdles they’ve had to jump to get there

Greetings Kind Regards I am looking for a proper site to vent my irksomeness re/ illogic in the Science Fiction Series I follow i.e. to wit in particular most recently "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" "The Orville". I found none via web search other than possibly a discussion in Quora but I am not welcome there. I can post on my blogspot page but I am lucky to have a visitor per month and I would like to see some discussion. I await your kind replies. - Cheerio

And including your blog in the sig with that does smell rather of pink meat. I haven't reported you in S&A, but I'd think fairly carefully if I was you - the more trigger happy amongst us may not be so lenient ...

Plus, the tech is supposed to be way ahead of ours - and as Clarke said "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".
Which means that it can follow rules that aren't apparent to us since we don't understand how it works.
A bit like "writing your own code" in QA is indistinguishable from magic ...
