I've had these for months. They are certainly not from McAfee, but change sender address, title and contents at least weekly. I have to add new entries to the Thunderbird garbage list all the time.
Recently, they come as "McFe", "_Mcfe_", "//Mcfe//", "M.c.A.f.e.e" and 'From' encoded with varying fonts, for each character. The sender domain and IP address changes all the time. I have Thunderbird search for revealing text in the message body, but they change that as well all the time (and mostly, the body is a link to some site that I find no reason to trust).
No matter my efforts to keep the garbage list updated, they find new ways to avoid it almost every day. Every morning I find two or three McAfee entries in the thrash can, plus one new one in my Inbox. Adding yet another filter entry has become part of the daily morning routine.

Check your notifications settings in your browser. This is the latest scare mechanism. My wife allows notifications from just about everybody and I go through monthly and clear out her notifications options.

Yes, I have done that. I was more interested to know whether other people are getting the issue.

I haven't seen these but I also run uBlock Origin and NoScript in my browser (Firefox) so I only allow scripts/ads on sites I trust like CodeProject.

Something I probably need to investigate.

The only "permanent" way I use is either FF with AdBlock or Brave. No desktop notifications ever allowed.

I haven't, but I've received similar texts on my phone.

Unprotected sites frequently get hijacked (php scripts get added), and the "scanning program" may just be animated images that virus checkers don't see. In any event, you've entered the "unprotected" (site) zone.

Not by my rules Greg

I'd like to host a Web API for a prototype project. Free would be nice, but what's really important is 'easy'. I don't want to have to jump through hoops to publish it and maintain it. Keep it simple. Also, I'll need access a SQL DB from within it.
I'm looking at AWS and Azure. Any other recommendations?
Thanks
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.

I know that Microsoft offers getting an Azure account with a $50 per month credit, for trying things like this out. Cannot remember the details, but might be worth looking at.
If you have Visual Studio, it's then really easy set up and publish your API to Azure.
