"driving with excess alcohol in August"
Excess alcohol in say September would have been a lesser violation, or what did they try to say there?

You should get it but not too quickly I think.

Right answer, but...
Surely Spain would be E?
What would a Spaniard say if he agreed with you?

Had to buy an $800.00 iPad for my daughter to use at school. Had to sign some bullshit document that I edited heavily due to things I won't agree to.
Like I can't jailbreak my own iPad. Doubt I will but if I want some putrid Catholic ain't telling me what I can do.
So it seems they have forced MDM onto it and removed Apps I have allowed my daughter to install and use and it won't allow them to be reinstalled. I don't remember signing anything allowing this level of control on my device. One of their IT staff press a button on screen today stating my daughter agreed for the school's Administrator to have access to her iPad and all data. She doesn't agree to this and at 13 isn't legally able to enter a contract.
I forsee a great deal of head clashing in the future thay I will win even if I really losr in the long run.
How dare they restrict what can rub on my iPad on my network in my time. Elephanting child molesting twats.
Also why is Chrome a 17+ App?
The school won't allow it to be installed.

I'd say: They should keep their hands of your or your daughters device. If they require the students to have an iPad they should provide it, and then they can do the hell they want with it.
|
|
|
|
|
If they want to have that control level on that iPad they should directly provide it.
It has no sense to establish rules on other people's devices.
I understand the bit that they ask for certain apps to be able to use the device at school, but nothing else.
Is there any kind of password lock that would avoid modifications to be done? or something like SteadyState[^]?
I understand your feelings about that... it should not be in that way.

"Had to" ? They just cannot force everybody to spend out $800 for a bloody iPad, can they ?

Of course they can't.
You can move your children to a different school if you want...
Which is why they are doing it: they know most parents can't or won't change their child's school, particularly this late in the school year when the kid is settled.

Unfortunately, it's the sad reality of today's spoiled kids. Uniforms and iPads. Maybe -required- laptops. They don't even use blackboards anymore, it's all done on electronic "Smartboards".

You bought it, you own it.
It's like them telling you that you can't write notes in the margins of books that you've bought.
Michael Martin wrote: I can't jailbreak my own iPad Do. It's pretty much a toy until it's jailbroken, and all that can be learned is how to play with a toy. They might as well give lessons on how to watch TV. You should inform them (and their masters) of that in writing, in advance of any potential future "discussion".
Offer to give them the benefit of your experience in computer matters, but make it very clear that the device is your property, and that they have no say in what is installed on it or what it is used for.
If they start talking about security, just laugh in their faces, because they obviously don't have a clue what they're talking about.
Oh, and if they refuse, return the device, get your money back, and buy one from somewhere else. They cannot legally force you to buy the device through them, and they cannot refuse to return your money if you are dissatisfied with it.

I didn't buy the device through them. It's the controls/apps/software they are installing that is intruding and pissing me off.
I had to buy it in so far as it is a requirement for all students to have one for use at school next year.

Better yet, teach your daughter to jailbreak it herself and to share the trick with all her classmates.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I feel your pain, you may remember earlier this year I had a rant at my kids school about their plans for their digital strategy. It was all apple this and ipad that. Despite my pressing arguments for and against, I feel they will still end up trying to force iPads on us in the future. The elphanting shortened richards for brains are running loose in the madhouse.
