It seems so. The world has excused a terrorist from murdering hundreds of civilians because he was a victim of racism, though in a country that was and is more heavilly affected by tribalism.

So the world today raises him to the level of a god. How quickly we forget, how adaptable is out morality.

From the media coverage I half expect him to return from the dead in a day or two before ascending into heaven.
OK, he was a remarkable man, and he did achieve great things, but as you say, he was once a proponent of violent protest.
A saint he was not, merely a normal human in extraordinary circumstances.

The one single good thing he did was not seeke revenge wghen he was freed. That was notable, and unusual, but it does not excuse his other actions.

Hundreds? Even the SA Government only claimed about 140, less than they killed in 1 day in Soweto.

You're a bit late. There were several lengthy flame threads closer to his death.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Almost right.
And = N (as in Fish 'n Chips)
Died = D
A = A
King = R
Otherwise, very well done.

This is one where you can just about write the answer as you read the clue - my interpretation differs toward the end though
and = N (as in fish n chips etc)
died = D
a = A
king = R
