Shocking news that Facebook will buy fast-growing mobile-messaging startup WhatsApp for $19 billion in cash and stock. Clickly[^]

It's not shocking from my POV - It's rather something that was predictable. The rumors were there for a long time.

The shocking part was with the huge amount of $ into it. It was way more than they gave for Instagram only $1 billion.

Wrong - I'm not blaming you at all, and this is just my opinion. Move on.

I have in the past occasionally received emails from WhatsApp, supposedly containing messages for me.
You mean it's not some spammer trying to trick people into opening attachments?
Oh, well.

WhatsApp is an instant messaging application for mobile phones nothing to do with emails

Cool.
Never heard of it before being spammed. Must be well worth the billions Suckerman paid for it.

Facebook turned me down. It was a great opportunity to connect with some fantastic people. Looking forward to life's next adventure.—

After about 6 million iterations of FF does it still focus new tab on the address bar and not on the first text box?
I have it set as Google and expect to New Tab/Search, not New Tab/Type/Swear/Focus/Search.
Yes, I know there are add-ons for this, but they really should not be necessary.

I actually have the opposite problem.
When I open Firefox, it always focuses on the first textbox rather than the address bar or search bar.

Have you tried setting Firefox to show a blank page rather than your home page at startup?

That's strange. It works for me.

I really only use Chrome, so it's not really a problem I care to solve.
