Sorry I have not posted these for a little bit. Been a tad distracted by actually having to do some work!

Quote: habitable zone that could support alien life For all we know all planets could support alien life. We're always looking for water because that is how we know life to exist but who is to say there are not life forms that do not need water?
With as vast as space is how could anyone think this is the only planet with life?

Indeed.
RyanDev wrote: With as vast as space is how could anyone think this is the only planet with life?
I wouldn't have thought that there is anyone who thinks that (other than those that do think it ).
The chances are that life exists on millions or billions of planets in our galaxy (and, by extension, the billions of other galaxies that comprise our universe).
What might be interesting is whether or not any of them have reached technological levels similar to or more advanced than our own.
You might find this interesting: The Drake Equation[^]
Of course, that might then lead to a conversation as to whether or not any advanced alien civilizations have visited or still visit our charming little world...

Oh yeah, I bet you'd just love that.
Actually, we don't - we just have to accept that we both perceive how it all happened quite differently - why not just leave it at that and enjoy the notion that, however they got there, we agree that alien species most likely exit, in droves, elsewhere in our galaxy.

We know at least 8 planet that (probably) don't support life, and certainly nothing macroscopic, right here in our solar systems!

You are the one who took it as a joke about religion, which it was not.
Just using the quote to make a joke about your statement "how could anyone think this is the only planet with life".

Then use the joke icon. And means laughing. If you are telling a joke, use the joke icon. Laughing can mean different things to different people.
Anyway, read the Lounge rules. It isn't my job to educate you on how to be proper.

I always forget to use it. My bad.

That is what jokes are supposed to make you do.

It usually means they find something funny. Obviously we don't find the same things funny. As I said before I was making a joke about "how could anyone think this is the only planet with life". Not a joke about religion.
I don't make jokes about religion because there is always someone who takes offense. Seems religion is no joking matter to some people.

Quote: It usually means they find something funny. Ya, I found it funny. Sure. I was laughing with you, not at you.
Quote: Not a joke about religion. So, your using a single passage out of the Bible to claim that some people could actually believe what I was claiming they shouldn't and you're saying that isn't about Religion? Interesting viewpoint.

It was a joke about "how could anyone think this is the only planet with life" not about religion.

If not it must not have been noteworthy.
