They got an F, what else. Posting my assignments here is cheating. Plain and simple.

I bet you heard this many a time at school;
"Griff, you should really be paying more attention instead of staring out the window all day!"
|
|
|

Nope. They probably said it a lot, but I wasn't paying attention.
Except in RI. Didn't have a choice there...the RI Master would hurl his bible at you - not to hit, but to land on your desk from the other side of the room. Since this was one of the "family size" religion packs (about a foot and a half square and several inches thick) it arrived with a noise like the clap of doom.

Me too - I used to keep an eye on both sites. Though I used to encourage them to seek help online too as I consider it an important skill. Depressingly not one student had the nouse to ask a question here or on SO AFAICT.

Part of my first lesson was about resources. Where to go to get help. CP, SO, and other sites were on the slide.
But it's common sense that you cannot post an entire assignment into a QA forum.

Pretty much ditto.
The really depressing thing was in two years only three students actually turned coursework in. I can actually reply to the OP's question because I've seen Western and non-western education in action.

It's utterly depressing.

I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. (V)

There appears to be a certain cultural element, a lot of the worst offenders have Indian names and I get the impression that the 'technology boom' over there has resulted in a lot of (probably online) qualifications that you can tick-box your way through, and a culture of 'however you get the qualification, it's fine'. Online course providers and access to computers are both on the increase so it's, unfortunately, not surprising that there's a growth in 'urgent plz do my homework' questions.

Screw 'em. Let them cheat, graduate, then bitch about how they can't even get a job with a degree.
I have no sympathy for those clowns.

Finally, there is proof that the internet was invented by Al Gore.
If you monitor data packets on the internet at large for a few days, a pattern emerges.
And if you convert that pattern to percussion audio, you hear a beat that not only expresses a universal procedure to solve problems, it has a signature that in distinctly Gore's.
How can you tell? Easy - it's an Al Gore rhythm.
