If God wanted us to vote, he would have given us candidates.
The problem with political jokes is they get elected!
We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office!
If we got one-tenth of what was promised to us in these Election manifestos and speeches, there wouldn't be any inducement to go to heaven!
Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river! ( to pocket the sanctioned funds!)
Why pay money to have your family tree traced; go into politics and your opponents will do it for you for free!
Politicians are people who, when they see light at the end of the tunnel, go out and buy some more tunnel!
Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other.
I offer my political opponents a bargain: if they will stop telling lies about us, I will stop telling the truth about them.
A politician is a fellow who will lay down your life for his country.
I have come to the conclusion that politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians.
Instead of giving a politician the keys to the City, State or the Country, it might be better to change the locks!

How dare you post such "serious" stuff with a joke icon?

Joke aside, this could have been an extract of what the Front National[^] program.
You sense the irony : Politicians who campaign with the message that politicians are crap, to be elected as MEP because to protest against Europe.

Reminds me of the traditional epitaph for MPs (Members of Parliament):
Here lies the body of our MP
Who promised lots for you and me.
His promises did not fulfil,
And, though he's dead, he's lying still.

Norwegian authorities can issue you a temporary/emergency passport, that I think you can get immediately.

All Consuls can issue emergency passports or some form of laissez-passer to get their Nationals home. Though in normal circumstances they make them pay the [inflated] fee for a new passport.
|
|

Well, a new passport cost about 50£ and an emergency passport costs about 50£, so I guess they are pretty expensive.

Bloody hell an Oz passport recently cost me over $300 IIRC. Even with the exchange rate that is more than double!

Wrong. A new British Passport issued through an Embassy is more than one issued in the UK. My last renewal I did in Budapest and it was done next day and the fee was comparable with a UK renewal.
Now, British Embassies no longer issue and they have to be sent away. From Budapest, the fee would be £102 vs the standard £75 and it would take up to 6 weeks.
I will be renewing here when my current UK passport runs out later this year.

Ehm Was talking about a Norwegian passport I don't know how much you would pay for a British passport, as I don't really have a need for it
