Point Nemo[^]
This is the place where the people who give a damn* live.
Sometimes, it's handy to have a map which shows these things, so you can point them out to idiots...
* KSS version, you may prefer a different word. Point Nemo is the location furthest from any landmass on the planet.

You found Nemo?
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

Point Nimmo[^]
This is the place where Derek Nimmo no longer lives.

Lesson learned today: Do unto others before they do unto you.

So, if someone's going to give you some money, you'll start off by giving them some?

Giving me money is not doing unto me. Its doing for me.

Perhaps you need to look up "unto".
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

Unto: Archiac term for "to".
Example: I say unto you be gone.

Also, don't stand 25 yards from JSOP, in the dark, when he's "packing heat" (as our cousins across the pond are wont to say).

I probably stole it from Judge Dredd...but I'm not sure.

I received an e-mail from my dad yesterday entitled "IMPORTANT DOCUMENT" and it basically said that he tried to send me a document that he would like me to read but it would not deliver through e-mail so he used "secure Google docs" to upload the document and to click the link in the e-mail to view it. The grammar and spelling was perfect, signed-off with his full name, and even hovering over the link seemed to show a valid url (something like apifocus.com). The thing is, anyone who knows my dad knows his grammar and spelling is atrocious. Called up dad and sure enough, he didn't send it. Them scammers will never learn.

I have bin getting emails from supposed relatives of the missing Malaysian airplane, they have inherited a large fortune and for some reason they want to share with me. I just need to provide them with my banking details.

Seems legit. If you can't trust the fictitious relatives of the victims of a tragic disaster, who can you trust?

|

I am not sure anyone can inherit anything just yet from the victims of the missing Malaysian airplane. I don't think they are legally dead yet.

Yeah, the irony was not lost on me. However a link in an e-mail should still be a red flag. I did Google the url and it appeared to be some company in Thailand. I thought that was a little weird too...
