On my job, we once hired a developer as a QA engineer. I knew him from a previous job; he was a very sharp programmer. He was brilliant as a QA person. Unfortunately, this was just a waypoint for him while he found a developer position, and he worked for us for less than a year.

Developers have a technical understanding about software that - with all due respect - QA people don't. So yeah, it's been my experience that devs in a QA role tend to be excellent.

Can't really blame him. If you have the skillset to be a developer, why would you stick to a QA job?
(and could I have expressed any of this without sounding condescending? That was not my intent...QA people have my respect and I like having them around)

Kuraine - power cycle[^]
This was just a random recommendation by Spotify last week.
This EP is also their only release on Spotify, apart from a song for the Celeste game soundtrack (never heard of that game either).
Kuraine, and for me power cycle in particular, sounds like a remixed classic (S)NES game soundtrack.
It turns out she's actually a game developer.
From Wikipedia: "Lena "Kuraine" Raine (born February 29, 1984), also known as Lena Chappelle, is an American-Canadian composer, producer, and video game developer."
Seems I'll be checking out her other aliases too (they're modern classical soundtracks).
Composer of the week!

Say, ages ago (well, last year maybe?) you posted a SOTW about a musician/singer that was really diverse -- everything from class to I guess hard rock? I'm trying to find that link, as he wrote this incredible piece for piano, that he also sang the lyrics for, something about the tears on angels wings, and I'm trying to find it! Help?

Do you have anything else to go by?
I've only posted one song with "tear" in the title and another with "angel" in the title, but neither of those match your description.
Did I post the piano piece in SOTW or something else?
Was it a soundtrack?
I could send you a list with all the 302 songs I've posted over the years

Has this one? Venus Hum - Soul Sloshing
(I was going to put 88 Lines About 44 Women, but might not be safe.)
edit - might have to listen to more Venus Hum. She's a great singer! Long ago I mentioned her in a Blue Man Group collab. Here's another example of her talent: Venus Hum - Look

Looked it up on Spotify though.
You've shared Venus Hum before, I think.
