I deny that their political, they only swing left or right when I'm leaning or laying on my side. Physics, not politics - honest!

No sh*t.
"Internally, Microsoft refer to Windows Threshold as Windows 9, whether Windows 9 ends up being the public name for the operating system remains to be seen, but there's still a chance."
Gee, what most of us have been saying.
There is a slim possibility that someday you might be right about something. I hope your brain doesn't explode.

Yes I know
That chance part is something I am trying to point out instead of people treating rumor as fact.

And the question that still hasn't been answered is, does it really matter? Does the name that is commonly used to refer to a product that will be released in the future really matter to anyone until it's actually released?

When it came to build in March of this year, the Windows 9 name consumed the news stories and what actually happened at build didn't matter.

Most other releases haven't been seen as a mockery of the current operating system other then Vista.

You obviously don't remember the mockery of Windows ME or XP when it was first released.

It was more than 10 years ago.... he hadn't been born yet.
You can lead a developer to CodeProject, but you can't make them think.

Yes and yes, sorry forgot about ME.
XP is a great example, because I too avoided it until I gave it a chance.

You seem to be very critical over CP daily News. CP is not a news source. Chris and his minions bring forward a list of links that may be of interest to developers. They do not have the resources to check these sources nor is this their intent. In fact the comments under each link often give a hint that they are sceptical. Mary Jane Foley is one of the most respected sources for Microsoft News and this link was to one of her stories.
If you don't perceive any value to Daily News, unsubscribe. To use CP as a purely technical resource is perfectly honourable, but subscribing then complaining about the links, not so much.
Thanks to Chris and his team for providing these links!

Excuse Me!
The operating system is named WINDOWS 7!
Using the correct/official name for an operating system is the most important thing in the world!

I say "Threshold, Threshold, Threshold, I am a name not a number!"
On the Threshold of a Dream perhaps?
When it's launched, I'll write in my Dear Diary on that Lazy Day "Lovely To See You Windows 9, but you need Send Me No Wine, To Share Our Love". In The Beginning, Microsoft missed their deadlines repeatedly, until we'd say "Never Comes The Day when the next version will be out". Are You Sitting Comfortably because September 30th will soon be here but, Have You Heard that it might not happen then? I hope that you can find it So Deep Within You to forgive all the speculation. The Voyage will soon be at an end and The Dream version of Windows will be upon us.

They were here a couple of years back and my wife went to see them. Hayward and Lodge's voices were as good as ever. A trip back to better, simpler times < sigh />
