There are many more comfortable climates where you do not need to deal with time zones for in country apps. Iceland is a little too close to Mother at her most aggressive for my taste.

I seriously do not understand how this can be still be a bloody issue. Record using a proper date-time data type and format for the local time zone - 5pm in London == 12 noon in New York == 1862 in Paris.

Okay, so I don't know how to post an image here - but lately, CP is regularly placing the advertising bar over the discussion text rather than in the orange background landing zone.
Any ideas to stop this irritating behavior? Donate to the hamsters?

No I believe there is some sort of trouble in CP. I opened a link to an article on CP and it gave me a total new layout, with black background color, where it must have been white.
And at the end of the page, there were 3 hamsters, telling me something went wrong.

Maybe provide your browser version. I haven't seen this from Opera v24.0.1558.61

good point - I use IE10. I'll have to see if it does it in chrome.
Note: it seems to do this when looking at an expanded discussion. Entering text like now - or looking at the discussion list does not do this.

I would never use an adblocker on CP. The ads pay for this site so we can benefit from it for free. Other sites on the other hand I use adblocker extensively.

What a stand up thing to do.
Let me ask you something, the ads only make Codeproject money if you click on them. Do you click on them? If not, then using Adblocker is not going to hurt Chris and the gang.

I do click on the ones that grab my attention, but definitely not all of them.

if the gerbils care...
- On Chrome, no display issues.
- Back to IE10, looking at the initial Lounge page, the ad lands in the orange zone at the bottom of the page.
- if I select an article to expand (I am using compact, very high, thread view, per page 10)
the ad does not seem to know the LZ moved.
- changed to 25 topics per page - same behavior.
Ha! Eureka! Changed spacing to Relaxed, and the correct behavior is back. gerbils take note.

I just noticed that my IP address is now showing as
2505:e000:ae85:8400:3d42:fc54:67d0:ea6d
What is this? Why is it appearing this way?

My router software must have updated because it was showing in Dot-Quad format last week.

Possible, could also be that your ISP finally started issuing v6 addresses. My router's been IPv6 capable for years, but only in the last 6 or so months did my ISP start actually issuing the addresses.

Yes, hideous isn't it? I hate IPv6.

debugging scenario...
can you read back your ip to me?
blah, blah, ek6d. Nope, still doesn't work.
I can see a lot of copy and paste for this because reading this back to someone, if you had to, would be a nightmare.
