Iv'e seen this happen to SD cards before, the easiest thing to do is to run something like Recuva[^] on it to get back as many of the files as possible (Depending on what went wrong you might get everything back) and get a new SD card. I wouldn't trust an SD card that's failed me once already.
If you want to put more effort in you can try to repair the partition table and whatnot, but its been ages since I've done that and it seems a lot more effort.

I've had this happen when a knock has momentarily unseated the card, so it's best to do the simple things before tossing stuff out and buying new, i.e. try dismounting the card, then physically taking it out and putting it in again -- that was all I had to do when I got a similar message.

Have you checked the card in a PC? I had an s3 and it wouldn't support higher classes of SD cards - and I'd bought a class 8 One specifically to fit to the mobile. Don't know if this problem was fixed in the S4.

Same phone... never seen that... I would:
1. Using a card adaptor, connect the card to the pc and try to backup your files. If the card is dead try to use a software like recuva from pirisoft...
2. Remove and reinsert the card to the phone.
3. If it was not caused by dirt then Exchange the card.
Aaaaaand merry xmas!

This came up on SuperUser the other day, some good answers, may help you also:

The short answer seems to be give the SD card a squeeze, sorted it for the asker, may work for you too.

When I finally located the adapter for USB - SD card and plugged it in, the Win7 PC had no trouble locating and reading the SD card. No files were damaged, no odd file system was found. I copied everything to a hard drive folder, disconnected, then plugged it back into the phone. Now it works perfectly again - go figure...
Still, I'm not trusting this bugger in the future; I'll be backing up often!!!
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Very nice! My son was born on March 21st, which in 1991 was the first day of spring. Interesting thing is, with the Gregorian calendar, it'll be a long time (2044) before another first day of spring will be on 3/21. He'll be 53 and I'll will be 82 if I live that long.

Recently a friend of mine informed me he has registered his own domain at GoDaddy. If I have a look to the domain name xyz.net at GoDaddy I see that registrar is GoDaddy. For me it looks like, my friend pays and the owner of the domain is GoDaddy. Can anybody confirm that?
Thank you in advance

Private individuals may be protected from information disclosure by not displaying the owner, and GoDaddy are using their details in the whois info.
Your friend owns the domain and GD are just the registrar.

Thank you very much for this.
I had the feeling(from this Forum) that GD is not really serious.
It seems I have to change my mind
Thank you

Yeah,
I have several domains (more than 10) registered all through godaddy since more than 7 yrs.
I never faced any issue with my domain.
You can control any information and if you wish, you can transfer your domain to some other registrar too very easily.

Well it has arrived, hope Santa has been good to you. He couldn't land on the platform so he's paying me a visit hopefully on the 31st.
Just a reminder, if any of you fancy having a few tipples for me, it would be appreciated! I think the nearest bar is about 100 miles away on the Shetland Isles or about the same distance the other way to Norway!

And a very merry time to yourself and your family, however delayed it may be.

The family are probably having an absolute ball, they are all at the wife's parents house with the rest of her clan.
(think I would rather be here as it will be manic there, fighting for seats, noise, kids everywhere, you know the usual stuff!)

Yeah, the kids will have been up for a few hours, and found the stockings. And eaten the contents. The adults will be suffering from an excess of eggnog and Christmas spirit last night, but trying to be jolly "because it's for the kids" - who are starting to turn green due to the amount of chocolate they have found and stuffed their faces with, or sugar rushing round the house doing a wall of death on the walls.
Granny, having realised that she isn't going to have to do the cooking, will have grabbed the best seat, cracked open the Quality Street and the Amontillado, hogged the remote and is channel surfing for a Bing Crosby movie...
And the fights haven't even started yet!
Out of interest, how did you manage to wangle being offshore for Christmas? Well done!

As the wife says to others "He always manages to have the rota exactly right, school holidays, shows, events etc. etc."
In reality, it just happened that way!
