You can't trust him. He was off his loaf.

|

At yeast he was making an effort.

Obviously he was a gluten for punishment.

Definitely not one of the upper crust.

I don't know, you could always try buttering him up?
Life is like a s**t sandwich; the more bread you have, the less s**t you eat.

Thats why you should take him with a pinch of salt.

Careful, don't spread yourself too thin.

I relish the fact that you've mustard the strength to ketchup to me.

I can top that, get you out of a jam.

When you try to butter someone up, you cant really be too careful, as there is little margarine for error.

I think you're on a slippery slope there

Not to worry, I'l win with a landslide.

Will you guys quit loafing about and do something useful?

You too? You're supposed to be the bread winner here.

One of the more on topic signatures of all time. Nothing more was kneaded.

But you need to knock it back (not many will get this pun! )

In retrospect, I should probably clarify:
We used to have these beautiful traditional loves of crusty bread: Vienna, Split Tin (with flour on the top), lovely crusty and malty Granary. the "problem" with those was wedge shaped or wavy hand sliced slices. Some bright spark says "FTFY with my pre-sliced loaf".
The problems with pre-slicing are:
- Slices are a uniform thickness. OK, you can buy different thickness loaves, but that doesn't let you taylor the slice for the purpose within each loaf
- Pre-sliced bread tends to dry out: OK says smart guy, we can make it moister to compensate
- We now have slightly soggy moist bread which goes mouldy quickly: OK says smart guy, we can put in some preservatives to keep it longer
- We now have "atomic" bread, which smells slightly unpleasant, has the consistency of cotton wool and is still of uniform thickness
Give me a traditional chunky piece of bread that has real bread texture, lashings of butter plus Marmite, jam , Golden Syrup, whatever else your favourite topping is (or have it naked!)
I bake pretty much all of our bread at home. We slice it as we need it, to the desired optimal thickness. It has a wonderful smell, great texture, is delicious and it's neither soggy nor dry.
I HATE sliced bread.

Me too, sliced bread was a shite idea.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

Roller Skates[^]
New version: WinHeist Version 2.1.0
There's a fine line between crazy and free spirited and it's usually a prescription.
I'm currently unsupervised, I know it freaks me out too but the possibilities are endless.
