You can if you're a local administrator on the server.
Starting SQL Server in single-user mode enables any member of the computer's local Administrators group to connect to the instance of SQL Server as a member of the sysadmin fixed server role. For more information, see Connect to SQL Server When System Administrators Are Locked Out[^].

That was exactly how I reinstated my rights and then created a new user so I have admin and user with different schema

There is a setting that needs modified. I cannot remember at this time but I will look for it.
Look under tools\options\designers\Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation.

I'm not an admin - I can't change sh*t...

I believe the prevent change flag needs modified by a sysadmin

I am not going to tell the sysadmin how to do his job. I'm assuming he is at least equally as certified as I am.
Meanwhile, I'm sitting here slappin around ol' Mr OneEye...

Well, you could, but it would probably mean you lose your gun license.

No - I'm on a DoD network running as a normal user. My credentials/access has not changed at all since the time I created the database.

What did you do, switch from Windows 7 to Windows 8 in between then and now?

I think if I had done that, I'd be shooting the place up by now.

A few years ago, I actually came up with a concept for a programmer cartoon strip.

I just ran into it for the first time a few minutes ago (for something that I'm 99.9% was my fault).

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I've also got an eye roll[^](done with a table instead of s); but unfortunately(?) I don't know enough HTML5 to try subverting the forum display code into animating the pupils.
The table one was faster but it still took about 20 minutes to sketch in excel, export as CSV and then convert into a table; so they're only something I design when really bored.

What a relief. Now I know why my code does not display the expected behaviour.
