I noticed that the quiz machine that I was playing yesterday was running Windows 2000. I wonder how many systems (ATMs, quiz machines etc.) are still running Windows 2000 in kiosk mode? (A had a quick Google but didn't find anything useful.)
Anybody here develop for Windows kiosk type systems? What's the preferred Windows OS for that now?

Somebody I've been listening to for a couple of years now, but I've never come across anyone else who even knows who she is let alone heard her music before.

Around here it's hard not to hear her (or other contemporary country singers).
There is one (yes, just one) English radio station, and that one's AFN[^], so naturally they are going to play country music.
I actually started liking her music and ended up buying an album.

No. I knew about her before she was ... er ... anonymous! She got some coverage in t'Guardian when the album came out (which depressingly I find is now over 2 years ago - where does it go?) as various issues got attached to her songs by said organ's even more various commentators so you shouldn't be the only Brit apart from me. Having said that the claim that she was even Newer Than New Country got shot down in flames when those in the know (amongst which I humbly include myself) pointed out that them there country folks had been writing songs about exactly the same things pretty much since they came down from the mountains! Not sure she ever deserved to be saddled with the great white hope label (be it blessing or curse) but it was pretty inevitable once Taylor Swift had abandoned country completely given the sudden dearth of new female stars in the genre proper.
Just listened to the new single (out this month) and it's a pretty little song but it doesn't show much in the way of progression. I guess it'll all come down to that tricky second album as to whether she'll be just another mayfly.

Fallout 4 is announced, they offer a PipBoy Edition which comes with a real PipBoy you can use with your smartphone. The Preorde offers didn't last a half hour and were gone, everybody is hunting for that.
Me too, i got the problem, i got none, still refreshing to hope someone cancels his order or they stock up.
