So you can't "Go right", or "Head right" then?

Yes you can but only relative to your present position. If someone asks you what direction Sheffield is in you don't say 'right' (at least I hope you don't)!

No ... really ... it's not!!!

Well I had only partial answer
Mother = MA
Direction = R
Contains = IN
But the MARINERS fit the solution, so I jumped the gun as I had to go to a meeting.

Please explain it, as I can't get it except
Mothers = Ma.
Is it something like this:
singular direction = RI
contains the Queen's sailors = NERS
As we know the answer already we can take it the way we want

Queen's I should imagine is the ERS bit.
Mariners is the sailors.
Mothers singular = MA
Direction = RIN for some reason I don't understand.

"Return Incident Number" suits the best among all, as it returns incident number they say, here it returns direction, we dunno how but it does return direction

Well in that case they will be called as squ-arrows cause the arrows will get squ-eezed in size as the arr-ay of arrows hits the squ-are shaped cell
