It's towards the tail end of it, as I recall.

Hi All,
Regulars should remember this post from Wednesday The Lounge - CodeProject[^] re: the company that wanted to interview me, well I think it went well, the guy who turned up (MD, owner) started to talk about one of their projects they were having issues with, it turned out to be similar to a problem I had and solved before so I was taken back to the Work Shop shown the problem and came up with a solution (or where to ask the question). It was good as he was talking about 1206, 0805 & 0603 compnents I mentioned that I worked with 0402 and showed him one the PCBs I had as a prop. Seems good as he wants a second meeting... Now the money question...

Hope all goes well. I would hate to find a job at my age.

I get calls or emails every day about this job or that job. I absolutely hate/despise the interview process, so I turn 'em all down. I have no time/desire to be tested, or to be asked absurd brain teaser questions.

I usually specify "Lots of it", or, "Whatever you had in mind, increase by 50%".

Good for you!
Hope it goes well - did you find out why it was in a cafe?

Well the entire way there I was being told about how they moving to larger premises, When I got there the pick and place machine had to be rolled out the way to get to the office! Cramped!!

Pick'n'place - PTH, or SMT? If it had to be rolled, that suggests it's an auto jobbie rather than manual, which is good!

SMT, type I had used before (with mixed results). Ahh the 'fun of loading tubes with components!

Getting hands on is a very good sign in my experience, at least if can respond to all their questions properly.

Well the fact I soldered 0603 compnents by hand (badly!) and was a little nervous of having to do 0402 by had with a microscope seemed to impress...Also I think previous (if there were previous) canditates must have looked horrified when assembler was mentioned...

Oh.... You were expecting US to pay YOU?
I think there was a little misunderstanding.
