Save them and then go for sky diving. One of the instructors told me that even people with fear of heights can do it. I would appreciate if you can confirm that for me since I am not afraid of heights.

I can't really confirm it, but I believe that he might be right. I would POSSIBLY have considered testing skydiving if it wasn't because I've got heart problems. But I honestly believe that I could have done that even with fear of heights.

If you have a family, then maybe even more since you would not consider taking them either.

Precisely! There's no telling how much money I'm actually saving. The sky is the limit!

I take it you read the story(I am too lazy to google) of the Chinese glass bridge that cracked?

Nope, but now that you mentioned it, I Goodled it. And I'm not having anything of that either!

No jumping of bridges or perfectly good airplanes for you either I guess.

Not bridges, no. But if it hadn't been for heart problems, I think I COULD have been pursuaded to try jumping out of a plane. Height, when it is THAT high, feels quite different, and (at least to me, and quite irrationally so) it doesn't seem like a parachute jump from several thousand meters would be as dangerous as falling off a 2 meter ladder.
The knowledge that you do have a parachute at least should be some comfort.

So... have you tried jumping down a 2m ladder with a parachute yet?

I am looking for job since Jan 15. During this time, I have developed many different video alalytics solutions such as
* people detection & counting
* vehicle detection & counting
* vehicle classification (e.g CAR or SUV) and others.
I have also started working small video conferencing system. I made video samples of these projects and sent to around 40 such companies. But nobody seem to be interested. I did not even get phone call from any of them.
For the last 2 days, I am really tired of my own R&D. I have started considering myself as a burden on the planet earth. Don't know what to try next? Any suggestions on my methodology or in general? Thanks a ton.

Have you tried actually applying for any advertised jobs?
Any unsolicited stuff that arrived at any of my companies got binned unread/unseen - especially video!

Sorry to hear things are difficult - the first thing I would suggest is to talk to friends to help you get some perspective on things.
Given what you have written you are obviously very talented and intelligent, chatting with friends about your concerns and difficulties may help with the difficult emotions you are experiencing - this will then help to set you up for finding work.

The software sounds interesting. Try advertising it online. Or approach a security company / other companies that might be interested in using it. You might even want to contact companies who sell or make similar software and see if they want to buy yours or employ you.

Finding a good job is a hard project which cant be done in some weeks. If you look for job think: the employer is "buying" your working power.
So you better search for a company which is looking for someone with your skills. Use some internet services as stepstone to find job offers. What about extending your skills with some online MOOCs for the red hot mobile market?
In your personal life you should wisely use the time: take care about your family and friends, make sports regularly.
Everybody knows that it is a hard time. Take it as break, to get ready for "the next level".
Press F1 for help or google it.

May be they are in no position to hire anyone or they need some other skills. May be they are already working on something like this which is yet to hit the market but ahead of your product.

Online job portals. Whichever is better in your area. You can also take a look at freelance websites (requires huge amount of patience), StackOverflow or LinkedIn for either jobs in your area or jobs that allow telecommute.

Be positive and have patience. I would also suggest you to get some counselling, it may help you discuss your problems and free your mind.

I too have been jobless until two weeks, recently I was working on just some spare time projects I had thought of when I was working did them. A good thing is apply for all sorts of roles, my experience of recruiters was poor. The company I am now with were advertising directly, my advice talk to people you know, look locally (yell.com). Try to contact local companies and try to contact them midday (not late in the afternoon or early in the morning). If you have some showable project that maybe related to something they do good, I showed an interface that used the paraellel port (which was needed for an upcoming project!) that I had put together using C# and a couple of DLL's. Best of luck!!
