About a month or so ago, I started working on a persisted version of the DataSet, using a random access file for a linked list and clever pointers n stuff. It worked for every data type EXCEPT for an array. As I didn't need arrays for my current project, I just said fyou and moved on.
Now I need those arrays to work and I spent the last couple of days last week trying to find the bloody bug. The data is stored as expected, I even went as far as paper and pencil debug - trying doing that with 97 objects!
Now I have found the bug. The b'tard bug. The stupid f'in b'tard votes UKIP and drinks Peroni bug.

Now I can get back to taking over the world. Again.

But is he also Dopey Nagy, and Sleepy Nagy?

The closest DB I could use would be Mongo, which I am using in places. This is in an experimental piece however and I want to try it out as it means I can get rid of some clunky conversions.

Sounds interesting! Is there a chance you will you show it to us at some point?

It's one of those 'if I can be bothered'. The idea is to take this[^] and make it persited so that it can be used to easily store and retrieve things between sessions.
In the current version of the DataSet , it can be saved to and read from a text file as well as pushed through a binary stream. What I am working on is the ability for it to work like a classic key/value store. It deserves an article, but there is a bucket load of other stuff I am working on that takes priority; sometimes people pay for this stuff.

Then I need to convert to and from XML. I happen to know what I am doing. Sometimes.

Why is it that when my manager says "we're keeping it simple and won't support x and y" I always get a chill down my spine...?
|
|
|
|
|
Because you know that in a month's time x and y support will be top priority?
