Thanks for that - I should have googled first! I'm still sulking over the removal of right-click drag from all programs in the start menu.

I use it and I LOVE it.

Damn - I forgot all about that, despite having installed it on my wife's 8.1 laptop a year ago. Downloading as we speak!

Department meetings this week; out of town colleagues are all here.
Went to dinner as a group at a restaurant that highlights game for the evening meal.
Entrée choices: halibut, salmon, shrimp, venison, bison, kangaroo.
I opted for the venison; it was supposed to the 'gamiest' - enjoyed it, but grew up eating moose, so, I knew what to expect.
I've had bison burgers... enjoyed that.
Tried the kangaroo... interesting texture and flavor.
What have you tried for the first time, outside of your normal dining choices, and what were your impressions?

I believe there was a first time for everything I've ever eaten.

You wanna narrow that criterion down a bit? I mean, everything I've ever eaten I've tried for the first time at some point!
My most recent introduction was crocodile which is decidedly average to be honest.
I am not a number. I am a ... no, wait!

Enjoyed it for a good 18 years now (almost 2/3 of my life)

Sheep's brain (cold): rather bland.
Impala: very nice
Ostrich: also nice
Andouillette: interesting
Pies: gimme more.

Impala is rather nice, as is Kudu.

Yes, it was a few years ago so we may well have eaten Kudu also. We certainly saw a few walking about up in the Kruger Park.

A friend of mine accidentally ordered a salad with frog legs in France. By the look on his face I think he wanted to hop away.
Oh boy, that one was lame, but true.
He ate them but said he'd never need to have that dish again.

Yeah, salads are pretty lame.

They taste like chicken; seriously, they do; IMO they are kind of a useless "meat".

Tastes like a chicken that drowned two weeks ago, perhaps. I wouldn't say that it tastes like a chicken is supposed to taste.

It wasn't cooked well, I also ate some bad octopus and didn't want to try it again. Once I've been served a well cooked one - completely delicious.
It's a PITA to cook and the slight mistake ends up in a insipid rubber... but if done properly it's wonderful.

I know - thanks to my mothers average-to-terrible cooking abilities coupled with a high self-esteem it's the kind I ate the most.
