i hear funeral homes pay their people pretty well (but don't think they need developers)

It just serves to make them feel that they work in a fast-paced environment, because they don't want to admit the reality.

Find a domain where there are long development cycles; not necessarily in the software itself but in the application of the software.
Traditional domains ( engineering, aerospace, banking/insurances..) have long cycles.
New domains ( mobile apps, games...) have small cycles.

They used to call it "Multi-tasking" or "Many-tasking". Perhaps now that's going away they need something new to inspire developers.

This is recruiter speak for "The customer's work environment is so screwed up that they change jobs and tasks on you so fast that you can't keep up".
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

My favorites are
"Must be self starter"
"Must work with minimal supervision"
Then you get in trouble for actually doing both (and not being a team player.)

"fast-paced" requirements are often written by people who work at a snail's pace or are cr@p at managing their time, so they think any job that requires a reasonable level of output is way too fast.
Either that, or they're added by morons in HR, who took a course that told them to use phrases like that because it makes the company sound cool.

Lights & Motion - The Spectacular Quiet[^]
Quite calming, yet epic.
Very nice
P.S. I'm officially renaming the Song of the Week to Sound of the Week as to avoid discussions on the definition of 'song' or 'music'. I'm not saying my sound of the week is a song or even music, it's just a few minutes of sound that I really enjoy
As an added bonus you can still refer to it as SOTW

For some reason, that reminds me of John Murphy's Sunshine (Adagio in D Minor)[^].
And no, it's not that type of "sunshine".

I love that movie and the soundtrack has something to do with that

Never heard of him, but I'm glad I have now
His official website[^] could use a little work though... Unless it's retro, like his music

Well, the guy is 70 years old, he started with analog synthesizers, because there were no digital synthesizers at that time. Many people say his 70-ties albums are the greatest.

That's not a sound, it's a tune!

And a tune is not a sound because...?
Unless it's a typo and you meant to say "tuna"
|

"A" sound is "A" sound.
A tune is lots of 'em.
But, of course, the most important part of any tune is the silences -- in fact, it could be said that a tune is nothing more than a silence that is broken up by a succession, regular or otherwise, of sounds.
Actually, that's inaccurate, because I say that it could be said but I just said it so it has been said, so it has therefore gone beyond the realm of couldbesaiditude.
