Hope they don't find too many faults, because that may set you on a different course.

I've been away on vacation, so I don't know if this is a repost, but a quick search comes up with nothing. So if it IS a Leslie all the same, please feel free to shout "wolf" (or you could just let it slide without giving a hoot?!?!)
However, my comment to Griff about somebody having too much time on their hands (Re: The Afterlife web page) reminded me of another guy I saw mentioned a few days ago:
This guy creates old VHS covers for brand new movie releases.[^] I don't know why, surely he has got too much time on his hands as well. But the result is SO DAMN NICE! Hard for an old geezer like me not to get nostalgic when I see that!

Which discussion group is appropriate for questions about NetBeans ?
Does such a group exist here on CodeProject ?

It is about Netbeans the IDE or about some development? Java, PHP?
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Kornfeld Eliyahu Peter wrote: It is about Netbeans the IDE or about some development? Java, PHP? The IDE itself. I have installed it, went really nice, click, click, wait, done sort of thing.
They even have a template for a first run test; a do-nothing program, just to let you know that you have installed it properly.
I need some direction(s) on how to configure the C Compiler. I'll start a thread and ask in the QA section.

It should be a good place to start: Configuring NetBeans IDE 8.0 for C/C++/Fortran[^]
And an other bit... I do PHP sometimes and used Netbeans for a while, but found Eclipse better for me...If you are looking for a free IDE for C++ development it may be good for you too (one advantage is that Eclipse offers installers pre-configured for a specific are. One for Java, and other for PHP and other for C, so you can start faster and add more later...)

Yep, saw that. I'll probably have to open an account on that site.

I just found the following quote in our hour registration system.
"Linux sucks twice as fast and 10 times more reliably, and since you have the source, it's your fault." - Anonymous
So that's why Microsoft put Linux inside Windows, BSOD's are our own fault from now on

Business as usual - "Embrace, Extend, and Extinguish".
One has to wonder with all the outreach to Linux from Microsoft is way to get their hooks into it and finally kill it once and for all. The comment says it all.
The last thing I want on a Linux box is MS.

This is a VM though by the sounds of it. The OP made it look like part of the Linux OS had been grafted into Windows, talk of BSODs etc. This would be a very different proposition!

Yes, so that they can blame linux for all the security problems that smack you in the face/wallet when using "The Safest Windows Ever!"
I'm not kidding. Windows wumaos are already doing just that.

Hardly. Linux is one of the most unreliable operating systems I've used.

It's odd how 2 people can have such different experiences; I have had no issues with Linux since I started using it exclusively for my main home computer in 2006. I have had issues with software that I wanted to run on Linux, but no issues with the operating system itself. I think I am currently running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS version. Software updates have been the greatest feature of Linux as I seldom have to reboot, all programs are updated, and the updates usually take about 30 seconds.

True, Windows 10 has been rock solid stable for me, but not for others. It makes me amazed that computers work at all.
