It's not because it's a tiny place that it should not be protected
You always obtain more by being rather polite and armed than polite only.

My front yard has the following signs, starting at 100 yards, spaced 50 yards apart, and extending to 300 yards out:
"If I can still see you, you're still in range."
Interesting factoid: The ground is level, and there is no viable cover behind which you can "hide".

Do you own something that could be lethal at 300 yards ? I thought you only were in handguns, not in riffles.

Let's just say the signs are accurate...

Besides which, no self-respecting redneck would live in a cracker box POS like that pictured... That's not a home; it's a prison.
Will Rogers never met me.

Those are British town houses, like you can see in all the decent residential areas of London. If the rednecks don't want them, I'll be glad to take them off their hands.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Hey, how did you land here ?? This post is about 3 years old !!

I heard a rant earlier about stackoverflow being pretty useless. Well I tried to improve a solution and it told me I needed 50 points. Well I have been a programmer now for too many years, and worked with C# for over 10 years. No wonder one does not get answers.

You can actually post a better answer though, you just can't comment.
|
|
|

Yes, but then you'll get flamed, because you should have posted it as a direct reply, rather than a new comment.
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

Of course you get flamed, anything in the Big Ego tags gets flamed unless the poster has a brazillion rep points.

Because every time I try to do anything I am told I do not have enough points. Have you watched the movie Catch 22?
|
|
|
|
|
I was going to watch it but I didn't want to as I didn't know if I would like it as i hadn't seen it.

Agreed. I have the same problem. Programming for almost 30 years, but anytime I try to post anything, I don't have enough rep points.

No, but I've read the book.

Had a similar problem with WikiQuotes.
I posted a few clever (in my and importantly, anyone else who's heard them) quotes. They were promptly removed because they didn't think the source (me) was famous enough. Same moronic catch-22 mentality. You can post quotes unless you're known and you won't get known unless you can post your quotes. The way it was said, moreover, spelled out "arrogant a**hole".*
The parallel seems to span many fields - the ones making the decisions, lacking any native ability of their own, need to make sure no one outshines their dull mental squalor.
* we should be grateful, indeed, that Chris looks down from his lofty perch, just shakes his head, and lets the hamster continue turning their wheels.
