I was hoping this wasn't IMPACTION as it has less pleasant meaning which comes up first if you google it...
But I suspect it is!

I think it's impaction

Impacting - not impaction (No - I'm not going to be tricked into googling it)

That's actually the first thing I thought of, unpleasantly... There was no way I was submitting it as a guess though!

Ordered Herself's Christmas present late on Sunday night from Amazon - and since I have Prime, it arrived yesterday.
And today I get an email from Amazon saying "You looked at this, buy one now, it's on sale, 25% cheaper".
Rub it in, why don't you? Ooooo......

So return it and get the cheaper one

Last time it happened to me I just e-mailed customer services and they refunded the difference. It's cheaper for them than you returning and re-ordering.

Understand exactly what you feel. I had a somewhat similar and really annoying experience just the other day: I normally prebook new DVD releases from one of the biggest online suppliers here in Sweden.
There was a TV series box I prebooked 3½ months ago, when they first announced that it COULD be prebooked.
It's still not released, but the release is imminent, and the other day, I got a customer mail from them: "If you prebook this box now, you get £5 off the price"
I sent them a REALLY pissed off mail: "I spend a lot of money on your site, both for DVD's and books, and I prebooked this box 3½ months ago, but I have to pay full price, while people who are booking it NOW gets a discount? I expect you to deduct the £5 from my price anyway, or I'm booking my DVDs somewhere else in the future"
Sent 2 mails so far, haven't received any reply. I have already started using another supplier.
It's quite obvious what happened, though: They've ordered a certain amount of the box and not gotten the number of prebookings they had expected. Thus they're trying to get rid of the possible overstocking by lowering the price... But I'll be damned if I'll be treated like that!

I ordered some school books for the girls the other day and Amazon said it would be 3-4 weeks delivery to the UK. They arrived yesterday at Mrs Wife's London office and should be with is next week.
