LOL we were just talking about how that crap pumps out in a week's time.
Better to go with Honeywell PTM, but no in this case, you'd use liquid metal compound as that's what was applied from the factory. It's not the same as standard PTM.

Some on Linux. Some on Windows. I use Ubuntu. People hate on it, but my clients don't pay me to troubleshoot issues with my linux install. Ergo, when linux runs into a problem - and it will - I can go on a forum and someone has already solved it. The larger the userbase, the more likely that is. Ubuntu has among the largest userbases out there. That's why I use it.

Interesting. It's always been my goto if my laptop starts warming up. I've not heard about the Honeywell product.
And, thanks for the pointer on ubuntu. Stability is everything.

I've got a lot of reservations about Lenovo. Back when they were IBM, they made fairly inadequate laptops, but I really liked that they published online repair manuals that showed how to get into the damned things. Nobody else has ever done that, and I was impressed. But since the sale (or spin-off) to create Lenovo, I've been kinda leery of their products. Please keep us posted on how this all transpires!

I had a top of the line thinkpad back when IBM had them. It was probably the nicest laptop in terms of function and build quality that I'll ever own.
I'm guessing their lower end ones didn't share those features.

Adobe Creative Cloud might have finally met its match.

In other news: Adobe has let a number of engineers go. They where responsible for optimizing the performance and resource utilization in Adobe Creative Cloud products.
"It was a tough call to make" the CEO of Adobe said. He continues: "In the end we can't have customers thinking we are not using every last bit of hardware they have purchased to run our products. To demonstrate how we appreciate all our staff, we will allocate a part of the kickback we get from NVIDIA to pay an additional week salary as a severance package to the engineers we had to let go."

Now this is just a guess, but I suspect the price is in the "if you have to ask ..." category.
