If you ever used a slow Atom Tablet with 4GB of RAM, you probably noticed how slow Webbrowsers are with a couple of tabs open.
I love reading articles on CodeProject while working in Visual Studio - that's pretty impossible on a Tablet though. RAM runs out real quick. Not to mention that Edge/Chrome experience is mediocre at best.
So I asked CodeProject on Facebook if I could make an UWP App that takes out everything but Text, Code and Images in order to minimize resource consumption and offline reading (cause my tablet has no 3G).
RAM Usage is down by more than 50% in most cases, which I call a success! Just had to inject some custom JS to resize text, images and code properly.
They gave me green light and this is what I got so far:

It's a real shame how wasteful and inefficient some things are.
The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.

That's the main problem of profusion : it gives the wrong impression that things are getting cheap, if not free, and are endlessly available.

Well, congratulations ... by the way, when will you publish your article, and source code here ?
cheers, Bill

Some rooms have a shower?
For cats? O....kay.
WiFi? That makes sense, several of our cats have insisted on access to the internet (some even had their own CP logins) and all cats can type fluently. Not unfortunately in English, but they are definitely touch typists. You may not want to touch the keys yourself after they have touch typed, but there you go...
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Went to an "IT Expo" today. Stopped at a booth where they said they provide programming services. Had a sign that said "Senior Programmers: $14.99 an hour". Guy looked at me and said "you look like you have a question". I told him I wondered how the Hades he found senior programmers who would work for $15 an hour. Then I saw the sign that said outsource. Maybe Bob in Elbonia.

That's why when I buy stuff - like our car, camera, TV, etc. I always buy it from the most expensive vendor. I just know deep inside that paying those extra dollars will add to the purchase in subtle but glorious ways!
