If I don't get banned for advertising, I will happily share the video after the concert
(It's on June 24 in Vienna)
Someone asked, if the Band has a name - Yes of course, but I can't tell here - not before the Launch.
I'd love to share a video link of the 3 favorite songs for me from them - but ... no. not today
They are not known in the u.s. for sure - It's not a big name like the earlier mentioned AC/DC - but they play since almost 20 years together, changing single persons now and then, but all the time the same core and the same style of music.
If you want to know what kind of music - think about 3 Doors down mixed with Nickleback and some harder riffs like Iron Maiden would play.
All melodical music, no trash, and every time, I introduced someone to their music (who didn't know the Band), they all asked for more --- but of course, the close contact I have with them makes me "more" of a fan as I would maybe be if I didn't have personal contact.
But no matter how you look at it, if you like a strong male voice, singing guitars and good drum beats, this is something you'd enjoy.
Some ballads are for darkened rooms but there are many songs that are dangerous for you if you're alone in the car on the highway at night...

If I don't forget it, I will come back to know more in sommer, after the launch and the concerts... I now am very curious / excited about their music (and your app)

That would take it too close to advertising. Not allowed in the Lounge.

What's their advertising tagline, "Join the Swiss Army"?
I think we can afford to let a few ads like that through.

How the hell is that advertising?
I've posted a music video every week for the past year and people posted music video's back.
Never was it marked as advertising (for as far as I know).
It's just posting about your hobby, or in this case work.
It's not like he's saying "you should buy the newest album of this band now!"

But you have nothing to do with the music you posted

Somewhat different, but I've experienced that working with hardware engineers and the pleasure of all of us seeing the hardware "come to life" with the software, and vice-versa. Hardware engineering is definitely artistry, not just in this day and age of auto-routing PC boards, but watching how an engineer figures out how best to route the power and ground lines, deal with line noise, select appropriate chips and figure out how (especially on the little SBC's like an rPi) to address the different components in the software, etc.
It's also a pleasure when I work with a software engineer that puts together and architecture and writes code with artistry in mind!

That's a cool history. Glad to see that after all the time in the industry there can still be projects where you get back to this kind of feelings. It gives a bit of optimism / hope in the future again.
I am happy for you and on the same time envy you for the months you had but I don't envy you to be called on the stage... I prefer to stay on the side, behind the courtains

Beautiful sunny calm autumns day so went out to fly my electric helicopter. Got up to a good height before the gears decided to strip themselves. Hello gravity..
To many broken parts to bother repairing, so I'll just have to look for a replacement, Oh what a shame ,
Maybe a drone, maybe a helicopter, decisions, decisions, decisions....

Sorry to hear that, at least it was not your fault. Why did you not cut the motor and try to land with autorotation?
What model and size was your old heli? The list of replacement parts after a crash always is long, but I would not give up so easily. Unless it's completely destroyed, repairing costs less than a new heli.
Anyway, don't get a multicopter. Why let a microcontroller have all the fun by flying for you? And of all reasons to crash, having found a bug in the controller's firmware is absolutely the dumbest one.
How about a T-Rex 550L or a T-Rex 550X? I have an old T-Rex 550E which is around 10 years old and I have been flying it for more than two years without any incident or needing any repairs.
Just don't try to get a clone. A clone may look like the real thing and cost a lot less, but a cheap chinese imitation of a chinese product is just asking for trouble.
The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.

That's definitely not the normal.
I'm from a plane background but for a number of reasons I'm flagged them for helicopters (mainly air space reasons)
When I bought my last one I was considering a T Rex but thought it would be too tricky for me to fly, so I got a cheap Chinese thing as a half way step. But it didn't really live up to expectation in the maneuverability department.
Now that it's broken ( and the missus saw the mishap and said that looks terminal and needs replacing - who am I to argue ) it's time to get something new.
I agree about the drones being too automated.which is why I haven't got one to date, but they may have benefits in other areas.
I notice the TRex or Align stuff comes in various sizes, what are the smaller ones like. Presently I live in the country and can just go outside to fly but we are considering moving into town with less space, now that the kids are grown up.
I like to be able to fly without having to go somewhere to do it. (Particularly with short battery life while flying)
