Well, I was actually driving 8 km/hr too fast, but 5 km/hr after correction.
It's stupid, that road has about 20 traffic lights and every traffic light has a camera.
I know this and I watched my speed, yet they still caught me
To be fair, it's a straight two lane road, there was no one there, and the limit is 50 km/hr... 50! Do they want me to fall asleep behind the wheel?

In the US, speeding tickets are public info.

In the Netherlands too, so it seems
Seems weird though, it's no one's business that I was driving at that road at that time.

Don't forget, they're getting what they pay for too -- I'm sure they'd love to be able to hire a competent web dev for the salary they can offer.
We can program with only 1's, but if all you've got are zeros, you've got nothing.

They take about half the salary of every working person in the country, should be enough

Gramophone Player?
(early+p anag gives Player - the rest eludes me)

I'm thinking along the lines of an anagram of "involves rich meat" leading to "_ valves" but I'm maybe looking for a word that I'm not familiar with.
Am I on the right track?

Aha - yes you are on the right track, I think. I was looking at the same word before _ diodes but in fact _ valves is correct for the anagram.

Thermionic seems to almost be there but not quite. It's not often that I say this, but we need somebody older than me!

Why wouldn't thermionic be there? It is the the correct answer!

I had to do some stuff on someone else's machine, but got fed up after about ten minutes, and used IE to download a proper browser.
It really happens, in the really real world!

I've been forced to use IE a lot lately since most other browsers have stopped supporting the java plugin. That means that the only browser I can run the Watchguard VPN client on is IE...

Installing software on someone else's computer when they got by just fine without it and probably didn't ask for it...
Did the owner of that computer feel you were doing him/her a favor?

The FIRST thing I do when I'm asked to fix somebodys computer (the ones I can't get to accept the standard reply ) is to change their Explorer folder settings to show file extensions and hidden files - Can't imagine why anybody would have it any other way!
Obviously couldn't be bothered changing it back afterwards - They should be grateful!

Changing settings that can be changed back with a checkbox is one thing, but installing something like Chrome (and associated services that leaves crap all the place even after you remove install it) is something else altogether.
