Agile sucks - luckily it's now heading into it's death throes
but plank meetings ... a really good idea,
I've almost fallen off my seat in too many meetings,
maybe I'll forward this to health & safety.
... then again it's harder to drink coffee when lying down, and that really helps me sleep.

And ask for one like this: [^]
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

All it needs is some back-lit coloured panels and a few buttons that just go beep, and I'll be well on my way to building myself the bridge of the Enterprise!

You're supposed to be standing in the stand-ups (although we do have one or two people in our team who sit down at the stand-ups).
Can you still call it a stand-up if you're doing a hand-stand? I've just had a great idea for the next fad..
Now is it bad enough that you let somebody else kick your butts without you trying to do it to each other? Now if we're all talking about the same man, and I think we are... it appears he's got a rather growing collection of our bikes.

The stupidest thing is I saw this yesterday on LinkedIn when there were literally thousands of people commenting on what a great idea this is.. probably managers/coaches/HR types, so expect this in your office soon!

If you think 'goto' is evil, try writing an Assembly program without JMP.

daily status update:
"I accomplished nothing during the 7 hours after our lie down yesterday because I was too consumed thinking 'Holy elephant my back elephanting hurts' to concentrate on anything else. There were minor glimmers of recovery this morning, but the first part of this cluster elephant has already resulted in a >200% regression from the starting situation. I predict the only thing I'll do during the next 24 hours is to fill out a disability application from home."
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

No, I don't believe that romantic novels are your style.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

PIEBALD gazed upon the plain white page, it was as yet unspoiled, immaculate. It held untold potential, for pleasure, for pain, for humiliation. But what did the page desire to be created upon itself? Epiphany? Denial? The page sat mute; it waited, patient as a yogi, to witness for itself what would become of it. To be unceremoniously soiled and sullied for certain, as all other such pages had had to endure at the hands of such a base creature. No page which entered this den would ever bear witness to a new sonnet. Nor Grand Unified Theories. Nor treatises on philosophy. No. It's fate was sealed. It would surely bear only tripe, at best.
