Nothing wrong with admiring a thing of aesthetic beauty... Doesn't mean I would necessarily buy one, but I'm sure the OP has played the thing...
One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know.

Just this weekend I was saying to Herself, that my UPS must be really working well, because we haven't had a power failure since I installed it.
And what just happened? The power failed.
The UPS cut in, the PC, monitors, WiFi, and internet continued uninterrupted; while everything else - including the TV Herself was watching - went black. Perfect. A couple of minutes later, the power is back, and it's as if nothing had happened.
Except Herself wants me to plug the TV and Sky box into the UPS now. Pity it's in a different room, so I can't ... That'll do as an excuse.

How much time do you get on the UPS dedicated? an hour? Mine used to be an hour but that was years ago.

In testing, about an hour. But I've got it set to shut down the PC after 10 minutes of failure - gives me plenty of time to save my stuff, shut down the NAS manually, and loads of capacity for subsequent cuts. They tend to come in waves round here!

If you don't mind, give me her contact information so I can explain to her how, for a mere $1500 or so, you can get her one that will keep the TV, fridge, and A/C running for the duration.
No need to thank me.

It's that newspaper... the one your mother told you not to read because it shows ladies of loose morals that are not suitable for young boys to see.

I was talking to Tesla [blatant name drop] the other day and, for my house, a couple of his "powerwall" 13.5 kWh house batteries will supply all I need! I am going to power them from solar panels so I can mostly be off the US power grid (except to sell them power on really sunny days). This will work here in Maryland where it is fairly sunny most of the time - I am not sure how well Wales would fair for this.
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Hopefully. Original electric companies didn't mind that, except for the cost of net metering, because they didn't anticipate that so many people would do it. With the increase of solar panel companies doing financing including setting up their own electric companies and with electric companies taking a greater percentage of renewable energy there is a push back to eliminate such programs.

No chance!
But ... looking at the specs for the TV and Sky, I'm looking at less than 150W anyway, so a small UPS for those two wouldn't be impossible. Only hassle is it wouldn't be able to run it for too long, and that would be what she wanted. And charge her tablet, and run the kettle - so that's a big no-no.
And no, I don't have anywhere to put a generator...

The PC or the TV on a UPS, but not the freezer

Given the price difference between a brand new UPS and just the battery for it, I tend to just buy a new UPS for my computer whenever I start to feel like the battery run time is no longer where it used to be.
That way, my system keeps running the longest, and other appliances around the house get to inherit a UPS that still works for at least few minutes (secondary PC...networking equipment...living room TV...etc). Plus they get the extra bonus of getting behind the built-in surge protector.

I really was very close wasn't I....
Is Disparate ("This Parrot") really a synonym for incomparable though?

That's the idea of the Cryptic part of CCC!
Sorry about the "Dis Parrot", but I couldn't resist. Mind you, if I had, I might not be doing it again tomorrow, so maybe it wasn't such a good idea. Hmmm...
