There are two kinds of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

On getting to the last part of the article the horrifying thought occurred to me "Hang on a minute, I know where I live!"

Very relevant article. And I must be very senior because I write the simplest code I can.

Just an other pointless piece of medium blog spam, just on an other site than usual.
Completely empty of content, just participating in the Global Software Engineering Circle Jerk by regurgitating some old quotes.

Wow. Who pissed in your oatmeal this morning?
FWIW, while I had read the ideas in the blog before (and had them myself), they are thoughts worth repeating. I've had to maintain/fix too much code that was clever.

These ideas are repeated at least once an hour by someone else who thinks he's so clever for agreeing with them. Someone, somewhere, is blogging about it right now, possibly hoping to score some "agrees with popular idea"-points in the echo chamber that software engineering has become. "Code is meant for people", "code is communication", "write as if the next maintainer kills people who write sh*tty code", "write dumb code", "don't be clever", "in fact, don't write code, create solutions". These things have gone way past the "worth talking about" stage, past the meme stage even, and are now well into the circle-jerk and ironic-meme stage.

My additional experience is: "writing less code, means less bugs".
Often in the extra and less used code are the bugs.

Thunderclap: #FixtheWeb #TechWeTrust
I know these people.
Why the virtiolic attitude:
the web became a place of distraction, manipulation, and surveillance when we stopped caring
and
we can chip away at the multinational corporations that put their profits before their user's best interests.
I mean, granted, they have a dubious "product" built around an interesting but dubious technology with an even more dubious claim:
that ensures data integrity, security, and user autonomy.
and I'm all for supporting entrepreneurship, but this really turned me off from even being a fly on the wall on this project.
