Careful. YouTube could give you a strike. Three strikes, and you're out!
I use DVDFab to create backups of videos on youporn youtube.

I just came across the two threads ("What you like / do not like about me") in your profile ... What a blast in the past, those many people who once were on the site and left .. Paul, Shog, Chris(s), Trollslayer, Corinna ... I feel old, and I miss quite a bunch of them !

Yeah, those were my formative years, when people were first learning that they really might want to consider fearing me.
I think my favorite memory was the dude that insulted himself to save me the trouble. I think he posted an article about the Koran/Quran/whatever. It was way back when CP first introduced the idea of registered users. I've tried to find it again, but to no avail. Only Chris has the keys to that particular vault.

I also lost access to some real gems after the CP database update. Chris is sitting on a treasure of punchlines

I feel there is no longer the need to download YouTube videos. Being always online, just watch it there, on YouTube.

That is until the video gets removed. Besides, what if I want to take a video and edit it. The whole motivation for my post is that I want to download the video of the dog saluting Hitler, but want to trim it down to the few seconds where the dog is actually saluting.

Why not just contact the uploader and ask if they can give you a url for the download?

My favorite place to go to download videos is OffLiberty. It is simple, quick and easy to use. All you do is go to the site, paste in a URL, like a YouTube URL, then click the button and off it goes! Offliberty - evidence of offline life[^]

I use FF59 for personal browsing, because I don't like to be coupled to Google 247, especially when I spend much of my leisure time on YouTube. With FF, I use the following downloaders: Flash Video Downloader, Flash and Video Download, and YouTube Video and Audio Downloader. I use Flash Video Downloader the most and if I want to download from YouTube, or even Putlocker, GoMovies, or any other website, I typically get what I want.

It looks like my Yahoo Mail page has changed, with there being a big panel on the right that is empty (I think I have an existing Yahoo Mail adblocker). Yahoo gives me a dialog box asking if I want to add this Wider Mail extension, or pay $3.49 per month. This makes me think that this extension is a sneaky, evil way to somehow spam or spy on me, etc. I have tried searching for information, but the only source I can find is controlled by Yahoo, of course that is not trustworthy.

And to think there's people still using Yahoo mail. Or any product by a company called "Yahoo." Beam me up, Scotty!

OK, I get the feeling that Yahoo is now considered by the k3wl crowd to be as L7 as AOL.
What is a "better" E-mail system? Google? Outlook?
That said, it does concern me that I've got so much stored stuff @ Yahoo, as moving over to a new system would be a PITA.

I've have a retired customer in his 70's who uses an AOL email address. Doesn't use AOL to access the internet but way back when he did.

As opposed to what ? Their mail client is great, no issue in the last 20 years, available everywhere in the world. I honestly do not know why I would change.

Rage wrote: Their mail client is great, no issue in the last 20 Just 15 years ago the mail client was horrible. Their search engine was terrible. Thank goodness google beat the tar out of them.
Are they good now? No idea, I gave up on them about 15+ years ago (probably) when they were horrible.

Data that you put in the Interweb are not safe, period. It is only a matter of time that they get hacked, misused, etc... I chose to live with this, so even if my data gets stolen, I do not care. Do you think Google Mail does it better ? Or Hotmail ?

I referred mainly to

And yes, others do - and have done it - better. There is always a risk with data hosted in the web. But what Yahoo did (or better not did to secure the data) was grossly negligent.

OK, I meant that *I* had no issue with Yahoo for the usage I made of it, but sure, Yahoo did some wild things and there were probably some other nasty bugs throughout the last 20 years. TBH, I am using Outlook more today than directly the Yahoo client, but I have the Yahoo app on mobile.
