I've heard this rumor too, but I cannot confirm it to be true.
Your manager is installing a keystroke counter today to insure you are producing enough code.

Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

Make them practice what they preach. If it's all online, try to get them to shift more of your work from home. I've been doing it for 10+ years now (meeting on-site only once a week, and these days down to once a month) and I wouldn't trade it for the world - especially since I'd have roughly the same commute as you've described.

Best O' Luck! , The thing I found when I finally got a job, was the early start (08:00) meant getting out of the pit around 06:00. I'm sorry there is no way I could 05:00...

Been doing 04:00 the past couple of months. I get up and going no problem, I'm crap by the end of the day though as I can't get to sleep till 23:00 - 0:00 so obviously am not getting enough sleep.

It mostly messes with your social life.
Having dinner at 05:00 and going to bed at 09:00 is not something a lot of people do.

What do you call a Russian napkin - a Soviet.
What doesn't make sense?

Non-Commonwealth English speakers (I'm looking at you here, USians) have never heard of the word "serviette" so would not get it.
